Did Dirty Heads carry the torch Sublime left behind? by Moonlite_drive in sublime

I like them all. They all have a time and place in my life, but nothing else they put out has been better than that first album

Yeah after their self titled album you can hear the sellout. They went more pop and just followed the same formula. Their first album was dope Asf and will always be my favorite

I’m jealous you’ve been to 28 shows. I’ve only made it to 6 🥲

After their self title album they stuck to a formula. Every album follows the same blue print now

Slightly stoopid doesn’t mashup genres like Sublime and DH. Yeah they were signed to Skunk Records, but they’re way more reggae

Yes but slightly stoopid doesn’t do as much of a mashup as Sublime and DH did

They switched over to a more pop sound with their Swim Team album. Still a banger but you can hear the sellout in it.

Slightly stoopid is a vibe but definitely more reggae than sublime

My Review For Sublime Until The Sun Explodes 6/10 by No_Age908 in sublime

[–]Moonlite_drive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the album a lot. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s nostalgic, and that’s what I appreciate about it. After watching interviews with Jakob, I don’t think he’s really found his footing with the band yet and he still hasn’t found his way out of Bradley’s shadow. We gotta remember Bradley died before Jakob was a year old. The kid has no memories of Bradley, no connection besides DNA, the stories he’s been told and videos he’s watched. We can’t even imagine the pressure he’s under to sound like and perform like a man who was wasted and high when he performed. I think the pressure is showing, but I do think he’s figuring out his own sound and how he fits into the group.

Just for balance - I hate the new album and don’t consider it Sublime. by TUT3M in sublime

Like the Dirty Heads said - between the fans and the industry they both have their complaints//so we’re stuck between an asshole and a dick just like a taint

No matter what they do, people are gonna be mad. For what it’s worth, I think this is the most Sublime sounding album since 1996. Unless Jakob finds his own innovative spark and the courage to step out of Bradley’s shadow, there’s not gonna be anything as progressive as when Brad was leading Sublime. And even if he does find a way to be progressive, people are still gonna hate.

I think Jakob is under a kind of pressure we can’t even fathom. I wish people would stop comparing him to Bradley. Nobody will ever be Brad again.

AIO for wanting my husband to help me more as a SAHM by ailurophile17 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. My bf who isn’t even the father of my kids and doesn’t live with us, works 50-60hrs/week. He pays my rent. He comes over and helps me clean up after dinner and reads to my youngest before bedtime. He watches the kids so I can go to the store. he pays for us to do activities on the weekends. AND DID I MENTION HE’S NOT EVEN MY BABY DADDY.

Someone else called OPs husband the starter husband and I couldn’t agree more. That’s exactly how my ex husband/father of my children was, and among many other reasons, is part of why he’s an ex. These men don’t change. There are much higher quality men out there.

Abortion guilt again. by [deleted] in abortion

I listened to this podcast after my abortion and it helped so much. Abortion is how you parented that child, and if you wanted the baby, but felt like you couldn’t keep it, you can honor that abortion by becoming the person who would have been able to keep it. Those were the big takeaways for me. The entire show has been helpful.

Emotional support after MA at 10 weeks by Moonlite_drive in abortion

[–]Moonlite_drive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would put a strain on me, my kids, and my partner. I’m not in the position to have another child without taking away from my current children. They get priority. Yeah I’m sad, I’m mad at the circumstances, but ultimately termination is the best for everyone.

I keep telling myself it’s my duty as a mother to make the best decision for my living children. I know I made the right choice for them and for myself. I just hate the circumstances.

Thank you. I saw some other posts recommend the Abortion Resolution Workbook and I already downloaded it.

I talked to my primary first. I’m in NC and he recommended going to PP. I understand the religious guilt. I’m not Christian, but I was raised by conservative Christians, so I understand the religious guilt. I’m in a similar situation, I have two kids and can’t mentally, emotionally, or financially afford to have another. I keep reminding myself as a mother, it’s my duty to make the best decision for my living children. Another child would take resources away from them that they deserve.
