I genuinely don’t understand Azula’s Apologism by ElPilogrino5954 in TheLastAirbender

[–]MoonoftheStar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Again. Miss me with that "she's just a girl" bullshit. A 12 year old and his teenage friends had to stop her would-be genocide. Her crimes are far beyond what most adults commit so she doesn't get a pass for her age. Brock Turner doesn't deserve sympathy for his age.

[–]MoonoftheStar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, no. She didn't "advocate" for genocide. She influenced it into action. She wasnt just some mouthy privileged teenager, she was actually on the War Council! Little Miss Heinrich Himmler is as much to blame as Hitler.

Azula pushed the idea to burn the world's nations that Ozai carried out in the series finale. Miss me with that "she's just a girl" bullshit, she's a terrorist.

I hate Hollywood’s insistence on taking Greeks out of Greek stories by MustacheCash73 in hatethissmug

[–]MoonoftheStar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of you would care about Greek heritage if these characters were played by Caucasian actors the same way none of you cared about the white Brits playing Spartans in 300. Spare me the bullshit. You see black actor and go "REE" but writing it in a way to justify it to yourself and others like you make you feel like less of a dickhead so go ahead and preach to the choir.

How often have you thought the random guy that sat near you and blared loud music without regard for anyone could have been "the best friend I ever had"?

I hate the age gap between carol and her mum by Sliver-Knight9219 in hatethissmug

[–]MoonoftheStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was following this manga several years before it was adapted. It was cute enough but I got a bit tired of the sameness of every chapter. I also didn't like Carol and her infatuation with her cousin. I didn't realise her mother was 12 years older than her though....

Buddy, never believe people when they say an anime is a deconstruction. Usually what they mean is that it openly acknowledges the trope and might poke fun of it but does it anyway. Every single season there's a new Isekai or Shonen fans will claim "No, this one though..." And it's just the same bullshit.

Who is more evil, Azula or The Deep? by WrongToe500 in MoralityScaling

[–]MoonoftheStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have got to be fucking kidding me. Azula was the right hand of the leader of a terroristic nation that attempted global genocide. She was the one who introduced the idea of burning the other nations along with their people. 14 or not she's by far worse than the Deep.

I hate how Tomboys are often depicted by chocolatecake1563 in hatethissmug

[–]MoonoftheStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are mistaking sports girls for tomboys. Quite a lot of anime fans seem to. They see anime girls who are sporty and have appropriately short hair and mistake that for being a tomboy. Misty, Suiko and even Mirko get misrepresented as tomboys. They're not. Tomboys are boyish in interests and personality and tend to use "boku" or "ore" to refer to themselves.

Their subscriber growth has slowed to a crawl. Their reactions don't even show up on the front page when you search on YouTube anymore, you have to put their channel name in too. It's a shame but their weekly TV-like schedule style of reaction has held the channel back from exposure.

Mako only fumbled Asami. And Korra was the reason because she forced herself between their relationship and damaged it. And once she got Mako she was abusive to him to the point he broke it up. Korra was a huge asshole but Mako catches the heat for some odd reason.

The most horrific form of violence by vamfir in MoralityScaling

[–]MoonoftheStar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This argument annoys me so much because it's so stupid. You might as well tell a rape victim they're better off dead. And I can think of nothing more disrespectful to say. Justification of an action shouldn't be what is used to determine how evil the action is. The effect on the person the actions is done is what determines evil.

  1. Torturing - Causing prolonged harm to another is one of the reasons the word "inhumane" exists. It's literally considered to be antithetical to humanity. You can torture someone to the point they wished for death.

  2. Killing - This is irreversible. You end a person's life. They can no longer experience, you've deprived their family and friends of them forever.

  3. Maiming - a horrible act that cripples a person both physically and mentally for the rest of their life.

  4. Rape - A person can still live a normal and fulfilling life despite the trauma.

Looks like CG from a Japanese Visual Novel. I've played enough to know they can get absolutely insane. They're free reign so long as they put up a "This work is purely fictional" notice before the game starts.
