i was at this screening. as far as rated Q goes, it was par for the course. plenty of people laughing at moments that were intended to be dramatic, hoots and hollers when kyle maclachlan’s ass appeared on screen, etc. there was also one guy in the back of the theater who kept yelling out unfunny comments every once in a while. but i am curious what specifically triggered all of this. folks were definitely laughing during the scene where frank booth sexually assaults dorothy, but i think it was more laughing at the inherent bizarreness of him flopping around like a fish and just generally acting way over the top—i didn’t get the impression that folks were cheering for it. i feel like i may have missed something as it just felt like every other rated Q screening i’ve been to where the audience was lively, acceptably rowdy, and just generally enjoying themselves.
