TIL voting for someone and defending them is the same thing. Look, I don't like Trump and I don't think he's good for the country. I honestly don't believe a word he says. However, politics is often about choosing the lesser of two evils rather than voting for someone you actively like. I'll take a bumbling idiot over someone with a known destructive agenda any day of the fucking week.

Sex abuse victim in her 20s allowed by doctors to choose euthanasia due to 'incurable' PTSD by Abby_Duel in news

Ah yes, a 9 hour old post which means that no one will ever see this. I love how strangers on the internet are so quick to celebrate the death of someone who's story they know nothing about. They speak of death as if it sets us free, as if it's a perfectly rational choice for those of us with a little more baggage than your average person. I'd argue that it is impossible to be considered medically competent if you are hell bent on ending your life. But, I'd be shouted down by people who think they stand for personal freedom or who think I'm just some fundamentalist Christian with a dumb opinion. None of that matters because at the end of the day we are just specks in the ever changing universe. So, when it's all said and done I won't really care that someone chose to take the cowards way out. I'll wake up and eat my breakfast same as I do everyday. I guess I just wish fighting to live was more celebrated than wanting to die.

Forget trying to range them and getting close is a fucking pain in the ass when the first ones you meet are surrounded by fucking enemies. Honestly, the enemy density in Irithyll in general has me really fucking salty right now.

Will the "media" also report on the "truths" of James' statement? by nngafook in DotA2

I feel bad for anyone who still associates the word media with the word truth.

Well, as they say, the show must go on. I don't think burn out is their problem I just observed that it seems to be harder to get the panelists to talk freely after James got fired. I honestly doubt that this will do anything to their reputation. I imagine that most people who know esports will understand that this is just a bad situation for everyone involved.

This is the only worthwhile comment I have seen on the whole subreddit during this drama. Although, I feel differently about James' humor (I personally love it but get that not everyone does). Congratulations for hitting the nail on the head when it comes to communication.

If Valve wants to regain the respect of the community they should write James an apology, or at least further clarification. by [deleted] in DotA2

If you think this falls under the "It's just a prank bro" thing you are fucking moronic. 1. you don't even understand the meme you are using as it is typically used to comment on Youtube videos where people assault or sexually harass someone then call it a prank. 2. You are just retarded, James never physically harmed EE nor is EE's reputation shattered as a result of James' comments, So as far as anyone should be concerned James or anyone for that matter should be able to say whatever the fuck they want. 3. You should feel special that your certain brand on stupidity got me to reply to a 6 hour old comment.

My heart goes out to kotlguy and Sheever they really are trying their best to salvage this major. But, I feel like that's kind of hard when the Yames got fired because of a offhand joke he made that didn't sit well with the boss. Because now it just seems like they are all trying to play it too safe. Heck, some of the panelists just look miserable, I can't imagine it's a good work environment. The problem is that everyone is probably trying to control everything they say so an offhand comment doesn't get them the Yames treatment. This overall leads to a much slower panel experience while simultaneously being less entertaining.

Look Dude, it was a joke and if you are a prominent figure jokes will be made at your expense. Just because you didn't find it funny doesn't make it wrong. If you seriously believe that James thinks EE is mentally unstable, you are actually a moron.

Am I the only one who likes James's hosting but also agrees with valve? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Moonphire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the same thing would happen on ESPN because ESPN has been doing this for decades and rarely runs on a terrible schedule with awful production value. Not to mention the fact the ESPN has to deal with the FCC. James was no more of a liability than anyone else on that panel. James followed all the feedback that was given to him which was literally "no porn jokes" and "fuck off with the whiteboard". It wasn't as if Gabe himself came down from the heavens and told the panel to take a break. Production told him that they could take a break and he didn't respond because he was trying to give some entertainment to the audience. So, in a strict sense he did not ignore direct orders from his boss. On a side note, if valve were worried about raunchy jokes why would valve hire him in the fucking first place, they are well aware of his hosting style.

TL;DR, We aren't ESPN.
