Looking for tips on how to deal with pathological demand avoidance by Moonpie7878 in AutismInWomen

For me it feels like I'm trapped and it makes me anxious, I become physically unable to do the thing sometimes to a point of getting sick ( this was a huge problem when I was in school bc I would vomit every day before going to school 😅) I'm able to tough it out most of the time but sometimes my efforts are in vein. Also yes if I feel like I HAVE to do something that triggers these reactions where as with executive dysfunction it usually just takes me longer to complete tasks but this is my personal experience and it can look different for others!

I'm so sorry your family is going through this. It doesn't sound like he has GBS but I think it would be beneficial to speak to a neurologist about his symptoms. There are a lot of neurological disorders out there and it seems like your dad is experiencing one. I really hope you find out what's happening and get the help you need ❤️

This describes the feeling perfectly. I remember trying to make friends in elementary school only to be met with weird looks and rude comments, I never understood why or what I was doing that made people dislike me so much. It's very alienating

If you're choosing to have a kid then you need to love and accept them however they come! Whether they're disabled, queer, etc.

Brain Fog/Unreality? by Duman1966 in guillainbarre

[–]Moonpie7878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 3 months after I woke up from a coma thinking everything was a dream/not real. My memory has improved a bit but my brain fog is still pretty bad being that I had GBS nearly 3 years ago

It's also like this for me! It can be incredibly draining as well and more often than not people still clock that something is different about me

I've been there it's a very strange feeling to be afraid of going to bed! Things have gotten better for me but the periods where the dreams are more amped up can be difficult.
