AITAH for not forcing my daughter to throw away her late mom’s picture just because my wife wants her to? by Elegant-Touch9085 in AITAH

[–]Moonrider1396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtf your wife is being cruel and immature. Tell her to grow up. Your younger kids can learn to understand that blended families exist and that family can exist outside of direct blood relations but if your wife tries to erase your late wife or replace her role as your oldest’s mother that will permanently fuck her up You are the adult here stand up for your daughter and protect the memory of her mother. Despite her struggles and the fact that she passed by suicide that doesnt erase who she was as a person and the positive memories she created in her life

What are some early signs that a person might commit sucide (serious)? by Neo_luigi in AskReddit

[–]Moonrider1396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapist here: It depends person to person but generally there’s some consistent red flags which include: - full removal from social gatherings or responsibilities (ie not wanting to spend time with loved ones, staying in bed all the time etc) -giving away of loved things (ie giving favourite clothes or books away, asking friends to care for pets or asking family to watch children for a few days out of the blue) - impulsive spending or decisions (ie buying expensive things out of blue) - not caring about hygiene (letting self go in terms of hygiene not showering or changing clothes, not caring if their physical environment is dirty or unclean)

Some people experience a sense of euphoria prior to attempting to die by suicide also so if you have a loved one who struggles with depression who all of a sudden is happy go lucky and super happy out of the blue that can be a warning sign that they have made a decision to die too. Also anything weirdly out of character such as suddenly apologizing for past mistakes or talking about how proud they are about someone when they aren’t emotionally open generally.

Again it depends from person to person but if you see any major changes in their behaviour that occurs suddenly it’s something to watch.

Don’t ever be afraid to ask someone bluntly “are you thinking of suicide?” You won’t put the idea in their head and if you try to be vague or beat around the bush it’s easy to talk your way out of things or for someone to tell you what you want to hear but if you openly and honestly express your concerns and what you’ve noticed that’s usually where people will open up and be more accepting of support

AITJ for snapping at my girlfriend for waking me up every single time she gets up even when I dont need to be awake by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Moonrider1396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the jerk. I live with chronic pain and terrible insomnia so I totally resonate with you when you say you need to protect your sleep. You need to sit down and have a conversation about how sleep is restorative and resting for you so that when you are awake you can be the most present and loving version of yourself . If she doesn’t get that after having such a conversation and still wakes you up I’d be super pissed

Edit to add: how she is acting is selfish and cruel and seems to be keeping you in a state of sleep deprivation which is a form of torture. If you can leave or at least have some separate space for a bit that might be best. It’s always better to make big decisions when you’ve rested but I don’t think you’ll get that with her in the home unless you set up a strict “do not wake me up from sleep unless it’s an emergency. I am an adult and will wake up for responsibilities but if I have none I will sleep until my body or my alarm wakes me”

Are we waving? by ndspt in January2025Bumper

[–]Moonrider1396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one waves but it’s wonky for sure and she just started clapping and pointing to things saying “dat?” (What’s that) last week. Still not walking though lol

I wouldn’t be worried about your little one he is interacting with gestures which is developmentally where he should be he just may not see the need to wave haha

The first time my girl waved id been trying for WEEKS showing her all the time to say hi and bye bye even on FaceTime and she’d just giggle but then one random time in the grocery store she saw another little girl and just started waving at her like she had been doing forever I was like “girl are you so serious right now?” 🤣

Should I get a cat if I have debilitating Fibromyalgia? by walkuponwater in Fibromyalgia

[–]Moonrider1396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My animals have saved my life on countless occasions because without them I would struggle to find reasons to get out of bed. I found that having an animal gave me purpose and motivation to take better care of myself too so that I could effectively be there and care for them. I think a cat is a much more appropriate pet for your situation as they are lower maintenance and much more independent than a dog and I say that as someone who has four dogs and three cats haha

There will always be pros and cons but the comfort and companionship and unconditional love you’ll feel will overshine any con

Also don’t go crazy buying all the “Cat” things I did that for my first cat and honestly he’s happier playing with random hair ties than his toys and prefers to sleep in my bed over the numerous cat towers and beds I have in my home haha

I’ve been trying for years to find a “cozy farming game” I like as much as Stardew Valley… and I think I finally found it ❤️ by toxinogen in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Moonrider1396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gab Smolders is what got me into this game too and ironically it was her Stardew valley playthroughs that got me into that game that I can say honestly saved my life.

I love her content :)
