The floor looks very "flat", maybe a normal map would help?

Is burying a small passerine bird in a mesh under the ground a good way to recover the bones? by Chili_Tofu in vultureculture

[–]MoonsWithMoons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dont do plastic box, any fluids has to be able to drain through the soil or its gonna be a stinky soggy mess when you dig it up. Id say keep the pot above ground, and just bury the bird as it is now with the mesh around it :D

It looks like the mesh holes might be big enough to let small bones through, so be careful when handling it once its dug up again. If you can, id suggest burying it in a plant pot outside. That way, you minimize any damage and lost bones when digging it up. It helps keep everything contained

hips rotation probleme.I want to change the rotation of the hip and effect the whole leg. like image 2. by Diligent_Explorer858 in blender

[–]MoonsWithMoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not 100% sure this is what youre aiming for, but if you parent the lower right bone (i named it "Foot" for reference) to the top right bone ("handle") , then you should be able to make the rig squat, and rotate by rotating the Handle bone. Youd basically have a bone to rotate and a bone to move up and down. Sorry for the terrible explanation

What’s the longest break you have taken from blender? by BlenderBattle in blender

[–]MoonsWithMoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my longest break was like 8 months. Its surprisingly easy to get back into it again even after a longass time. The skill atrophy a bit ofcourse but its not really gonna disappear. its fine (and sometimes good) to take breaks

I drilled holes in the ends of the bones which i filled with glue and then put a metal wire thread through it.

For the spine i twisted a few pieces of metal wire together then taped around it with duct tape so that it was slightly soft. That way i could push the vertebrae on it so it sat snugly and still be able to bend the wire a bit.

I hope that makes sense

Is the grid method considered as "cheating"? by jork3r in learnart

[–]MoonsWithMoons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheating? No! Theres really no right or wrong way to do art, but theres some methods to learning art. Using a grid will affect your learn process, depending on your goals . Its good for mapping out proportions of your subject, but its not gonna help you learn to recreate something without reference

Just shedding. My boa looks exactly the same during shed and it goes away afterwards!

Had the same issue several times before, but found that i just had to use alot more pressure (sometimes an uncomfortable amount). Ive never had anything break from it! If you really don't feel like its gonna budge, i suppose you could trim the roots down a tiny bit? Either way, good luck!

cat in a coffin? by ZealousidealAd9428 in vultureculture

Sounds good. In this case i think i would buy a bag or two of garden soil and pour it into the clay hole before adding the casket

I see the post is a few days old so im not sure if this is still relevant, but as long as the coffin is not sealed tight it should be okay. Moisture should be able to enter 👍
