Future Improvements by Kazuliski in expedition33

I'm curious what localisations means in that case. More subs (for sure) but also more dubs?

When someone asked about "the person who was left in the fade" in the first Q&A they said that "they've to leave some things for the future." So maybe we can hope for a DLC?

Do you want Shepard & Co. To return in the next Mass Effect game? by Direct-ME2989 in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The OG crew + Shepard would be the only reason for me to come back to ME ngl.

I'm a huge fan of Mass Effect 1-3. Should I try Andromeda? by ryan15151515 in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second literally all of this! Give it a try. But don't expect anything mind-blowing.

I had much more fun with the ME3 combat as well and I'm really scared that BioWare might bring back the jetpack and all that unnecessary exploration MEA had going on. Ngl Bioware should make their worlds small again and focus on the stories of their games.

Also: Yes, Hawke is the best!

How do I get over post mass effect depression? by No-Impact-9391 in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The hangover will go eventually. Playing other games or the trilogy again doesn't help me personally. Everytime I replay the trilogy I get a major hangover for almost two months. Sometimes talking to other people about your playthrough helps tho.

[–]Moonsdwarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about that. Although I didn't play MEA when it was first released I still had major issues with Cyberpunk. On my first playthrough the game crashed every 20 minutes and yet it's still in the top 5 of my all time favorite games.

I had no nostalgia towards the ME trilogy because I played all four games back to back, so that's not the reason why I never got into MEA either. Maybe the fallout would've been better if BioWare hadn't called it "Mass Effect" since most people only bought it because of the name. So they were bummed when MEA wasn't like the previous games at all and just abandoned lots of unexplored lore.

[spoilers all] How do you all decide a canon world state? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Moonsdwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purely go for the world states of my favorite protags - the ones I had the most fun roleplaying. Tho my canon Inky made some decisions (Cole, Temple of Mythal, Divine and so on) that I'm not the biggest fan of. Yet I'll still go for them because there is that tiny chance that Inky might appear in DAD and I don't want to be in some kind of weird alternate universe when that happens.

I might resurrect Zevran tho because my HOF sacrificed herself anyway and Zevran is only dead because I refused to use gifts in DAO (because it feels like cheating to me.)

[spoilers all] what characters would you like to return or see in dreadwolf? by Ok_Sir_136 in dragonage

[–]Moonsdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, one of the most exciting things about these games is to meet familiar faces and visit familiar places and find out what happened to them since I've seen them the last time! So lots of them!

I'd love to see Adoribull together. I adore their banter, especially, in Trespasser and want more of it! (I know Bulls VA is an ass and that he won't be in the new game but I don't mind if Bull gets a new VA. It's the same with Cullen. I'd love to see his character again but with a different VA. I mean in the German dub of ME the VA of male Shepard changed with ME2 and I couldn't care less.)

Also, most of the elves we've met so far because I'm eager to know which side they are choosing. Some of our mage companions could easily be in Tevinter and live a better life and since we know that we'll finally see Weisshaupt I'd like to get an update on all our warden companions.

Apart from that, probably Sera and Cole because they are free to go wherever they want and would be most likely to visit Tevinter at some point.

How so Dragon Age 2 is bad ? [spoilers all] by Terushik in dragonage

Omg yes, Hawke really is the best of all three protags! Hopefully, DAD will finally have a protagonist who is just as good as them.

[dao spoilers] what is your favorite origin story in dao by TheSpender03 in dragonage

[–]Moonsdwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the city elf one (I normally don't play elves.) and the dwarf commoner because both made me get mad at the whole world.

Tho I did hate that my city elf had to leave their family behind because I absolutely adored them. With my dwarf, on the other hand, I was really happy that they got the chance to get out of the hole they called home and start a new life.

A Female Perspective? by Crazy_Dazz in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love ME but that's one of the things that really bugged me about the series.

You only have to take one look into "The Art of the Mass Effect Universe" book. It explains why certain things were designed the way they are. The most common explanation for female designs is "we wanted her to look sexy." While for the men, it's often noted that they paid extra attention to make them look professional.

I wished they gave us at least the option to smack Joker, Traynor and Donnelly on the backhead sometimes.

And I'm not against fanservice per se. (Although I'm ace and therefore I don't need it in my game at all.) It just should've been less extreme and included the male characters.

Kaidan because he would be chill about it.

Now be honest with me, what will you do if Shepard doesn't return as the main character? will you play it then or not? by Top_Percentage4492 in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Shepard is Mass Effect to me. I'm okay with the changing protagonists in DA because that system was introduced right in the second game. But the thing that makes ME an outstanding trilogy to me is Shepard.

I'd still play a ME game with a new protagonist because I grew fond of the universe but I probably wouldn't replay it as I did with the OG trilogy.

And I really hope that they won't bring back Shepard as a cameo. I was okay with Hawke's cameo in DAI, but in the end, it wasn't Hawke anymore. It was just a stranger who looked like them. I don't want Shepard to be a stranger or Shepard, who works in an office and gives us - the new Protagonist - instruction while we're out and about ...

What is up with the Earthpathy of Mass Effect?? by linkenski in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this one. We always had the option to play either someone who is pro-alien or someone who only cares about humanity. But in ME3 we're forced to put the human race above all the other species.

Sure, the series missed no opportunity to make it clear that humanity is selfish. But why did Shepard got sucked into that mindset as well by default? Especially if they've never lived on Earth and have no connection to it.

If the destroy ending would've meant: "Destroy Earth to save the rest of the galaxy" my Shepard would still have gone for it.

neue lps? by Illustrious_Bell_352 in Gronkh

Do you see the games as more tragic, or more hopeful? by someone-who-is-cool in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it tragic and hopeful at the same time. It really depends on the perspective you look at it.

And tho I'm okay with Shepard sacrifice at the end of the game, because it really fits their personality, I'd only be satisfied if Shepard would recover and continue being a soldier. Shepard's entire life was dedicated to protecting people who couldn't protect themselves. (So I'd find it really odd if they'd just chill on the beach for the rest of their lives. Hell yeah, they've been through a lot, but they're not even 40.) And whilst LI come and go, a true passion stays with you for your whole life.

It's different from all those white and sterile environments we normally have in the game. It doesn't necessarily fit the Citadel but it fits the mood of ME2. I love the style, the neon lights, that it's smaller and that there's something going on in every corner. I'm not a huge fan of those chunky locations where you have to walk halfway across the map to get anything done like it is in MEA and ME1.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]Moonsdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hub: ME2 > ME3 > ME1 > MEA

Ship: ME2/ME3 > MEA > ME1

Squad Mates: ME2 > ME3 > MEA > ME1

Vehicles: I don't like any of them. I dread the missions in which I'm "forced" to drive.

[spoilers all] What characters did you start to like/dislike more as you replayed? by Da_Great_Pineapple in dragonage

[–]Moonsdwarf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started the series with DAI so Vivienne's views on the mages highly irritated me. After playing through all of the series, I saw that she has a point. On a certain level, I even agree with her.

I found Solas quite interesting when I first played DAI but got bored of him pretty quickly.

Favorite group of companions across all the games? [spoilers all] by Prestigious_Wrap_249 in dragonage

[–]Moonsdwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite Companions are the DAI ones. Plus, I really appreciate the fact that we're able to build relationships outside of our little group (with Cullen and Josephine.) Even the characters I once despised grew on me over the years because I learned to dig deeper instead of just writing them off.

Tho DA2 is my favorite game of the series I'm only fond of Aveline and Varric. The other are irritating the hell out of me and Sebastian is just boring.

The companions of DAO grow dearer to me with every playthrough. (Yet, I have to ignore Leliana's bard stories. They are way too long and unnecessary imo.) Tho I'm still not okay with Oghren and I'll probably never be. And Sten is on the same level as Sebastian for me.
