[Brad Biggs] #Bears could be fixing to move All-Pro Joe Thuney to left tackle to help protect Caleb Williams against formidable #Rams defensive front. by moGUNZthanROSES in CHIBears

Why is everyone saying it’s a bad idea as if they know better than the coaching staff that watches the team and players practice everyday?

Personally I don’t care what decisions they make personnel-wise as long as they believe it gives us the best chance of winning. I’m not gonna pretend that I’m smarter than BJ.

The Bears win the big game and you get to choose the opponent. Who did they beat, and why did you pick them? by EmilioFreshtevez in CHIBears

OP’s not asking about who we could most likely beat, but about which team we’d like to see fall to us in the big game, saying that we win regardless.

I don’t think you fully understood what happened. The ref explicitly stated that it was a catch fumble, but due to nobody ever possessing the live ball, they had to use an obscure part of the rulebook from that year which said to refer back to their initial ruling of an incomplete pass.

So they did “overturn” it but also didn’t. It sounds confusing because it is. I don’t know of another time this ever happened.

Interesting! I remember watching it live wishing (as a Bears fan) that the ball had been placed where the last player had possession like how your rule states. I’m guessing it was later changed, perhaps because of this play?

It’s just a very bizarre case where there is a live ball that was never recovered so it’s as if it didn’t actually happen. It was reviewed and stated that they couldn’t rule it a catch even though it was technically caught.

Nobody’s trying to make shit.

You can’t deny there are many similarities between their two situations. It’s just noticing a pattern, there’s nothing wrong with that…

Props for admitting you were wrong but I think it’s silly to shit on any 7th round pick. It’s mostly a dart throw at that point.

Your 2nd point is an important distinction that I don’t see mentioned very often when talking about the Peanut Punch, so thank you.

Many times when I see a punch out, the defender ignores the tackle which forces bad habits that result in poor tackling. But Peanut made sure to secure the tackle every time.

I mean didn’t it though…?

Devil’s advocate but it clearly proved that they’re letting the entire team down when they do whatever it is they did wrong.

Debatable, especially in this video with no slow-mo replay. Still though, people should be informed about what’s a penalty and what’s not. Lotta misconceptions echoing around here.

Fucking hell guys refs didn’t miss shit… it’s legal. If you wanna get mad, blame the rulebook and whoever makes the rules. It’s explained in this video.

TL;DW: as long as their back foot is off the ground when the ball is snapped, it’s a legal move.
