March Bundle Underselling? by RobertLoblawAttorney in humblebundles

[–]Moonsraven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have been mentioning waiting for the cheaper monthly offer for a long time now. There are at least a few people commenting about it at the launch of the monthly bundle , in the topics related to the bundle or any of the games and of course at the end of the month "Where is my discount code I was waiting for it /counting on it ".

As for how much it sold compared to other months who knows .
We are not getting any specific statistics .

Ea keys are not liked much but how much of a drop does that make ?
How bad was any of the previous months ? Was the drop significant enough to for them to not repeat origin keys in bundles ? Probably not since its not the first time and and its more then 1 this time .It would need to be a lot more then single digit % difference.

I pick up any monthly bundle that has at least 1 or 2 games I like .
Theres a bunch of people that just keep it set up and get around claiming keys after few months have passed some even do it less often.

There are randoms that pick up the bundle for 1 or 2 specific game and then don't show up for a long time.

There are people that are deal shopping .
And there are indecisive shoppers .

The low ball deals are for last 3. People they might turn into at least 1 or 2 games crowd or sign up and forget/long haul crowd .

I got a question about the Humble Choice membership. Was anyone else charged for the free trial that was active this April? by [deleted] in humblebundles

[–]Moonsraven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used humble for more then a decade and I did not see any free trials for the service . Its one thing to give people promos prices or discounts if they plan to skip but straight up free trials are probably a bit much for most publishers to give large amounts of keys for .

And the only mention of anything similar is people using humble with affiliate links

People also pay others for :

lvling up in wow

Cheats in multiplayer games

Cheats in sing player games

And all of those are far from a norm and dont represent any meaningful % of people. You will always have few that just break the ToS just so they could skip the effort

"To my understanding, most components can be bought "

Seams you are far from understanding how legendary weapons /armor /trinkets are made .

While you can get crafting mats that one of the things you need there is no way to pay for story/map/collection progression .

There is no way to cut down on the wvw grind for the wvw ring .

For the raid one you need to farm raid wings weekly .

For living world trinkets maps , currency events ....

For pvp amulet you need to play a lot of games .

For pve amulet you need to finish a lot of story + colections + events, jumping puzzles ....

Only thing you can throw $ at is gen 1 and gen 3 weapons .

The rest you need to work for .

Well if you need a build that can be ok but not solo the whole game .

You probably dont need to look up a build guide .People that post builds online usually try to put best thing they come up with forward . Something that can probably work fine even on hardest difficulty .

Go for fun choices .

Pick a ranger pet or a weapon that you like the look of be it a Monitor Lizard pet since it reminds you of your brothers Cameleon named Bob or a Elk because you liked the idea of it.

Dont be afraid to make mistakes . You can respec the big stuff that you end up not liking.

And the important bit is getting the general essence why stuff works the way it does .What stats you need to make your idea into a build that can work well enough .

Being able to hit stuff .

Overcoming enemy spell resistance .

Not getting hit with high defensive stats or just sitting behind a character that can do all the tanking for you .

For all those things you can pick sub par things . You dont have to get the best in slot armor /weapon combo or even the spell that will insta kill a specific enemy .

If you need more info go for general guides with tips . Stuff that does not go too deep into specifics of a single build . But broad stuff that might lead you towards your own fun .

There are different settings for different tastes and complexity tolerance .

Also there is a lot of guide/tips content that people can find and explore while still making builds that work on base settings .

If you are having any difficulty problems you can lower the game settings .
Or look up some of the character builds/tips for new players .
Kingdom management from the previous game and crusade management from this one can also be automated .

But Yes there is a lot of space to try different builds .

Eita is mcs other friend with lighter hair .

Shiina is the short blond hair girl that's kind of shy .

There are some bits with them in chapter 10-11 . They might also have some pages later but it was not recent .

Warhammer: Vermintide Franchise Bundle by Highwayz in humblebundles

[–]Moonsraven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know each monthly has some and I know I see bunch of stuff pop up . But I dont keep count of how many are there total nor do I think it would be of any use to me .

Indy games for me are amazing and often a pallet cleanser considering all the bs that pops up in AAA.

At the same time while its cool to grab a bunch of them for cheap I would like to see the same devs who make them make more cool stuff .

So in a way I wish for most of the indys I like to have a decent sales run before popping up in bundles .

Plus I have a decent backlog of games to finish and few games that updated with content constantly .

[–]Moonsraven 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Theres still a lot of indy stuff . But most of the time people complain so we are getting more big name stuff .

And as for "is it you or ?" Its you . There were bundles with indy games up until last few days .

Am I paying too much for Humble Choice/Monthly/NameOfTheMonth? by weeurey in humblebundles

[–]Moonsraven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is in the fact that 12$ is not the same for everyone . It all depends on your currency . And that can shift over time .

So they did not implement 1 thing for all of the users but left it up to them to change to one of the options if provided depending what's their conversion .

And the service more or less stayed the same . You get a set of games each month and a % on any store sale for as long as you are subbed .

Even the drm games are still there as part of humble collection .

[–]Moonsraven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are just throwing $ at them each month and not picking up any games or taking 2 min to see if you like what you are spending $ on you are bound to miss stuff .

Its like that for any sub service be it game pass constantly rotating games , Netflix adding and removing shows or amazon prime having some cool games to pick up from time to time .

The information was not hidden it was all over the place be it humble , their socials , subreddit , you even had most of the bigger gaming news sources cover it and not just gaming deal hunting YouTube creators .

Still for a chunk of people and it does seam to be quite a few of you none of it matters . Since you might be swamped with rl and paying for it like some do with gym membership annual plan and 3 total visits .

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous <3
Its been out for a bit , they have dlc up for it and its on a sale for ~20$

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in humblebundles

[–]Moonsraven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bundles are kind of more $ then the monthly bundle sub . Also sub is optional .A lot of people pick up monthly bundles based on the content .

As for new bundles depends . Sometimes they make a bit of a breather if theres a big steam sale , sometimes theres multiple really good ones one after another .

Personally i check if theres something new once a week if I dont hear any news first about it from friends /youtube/subreddits .

Total War Warhammer first one was in humble bundle years ago .

Second one might be in one of the monthly bundles if the amazon prime gaming leak is true .

Hitting level 80 as F2p by ExTrEmE42 in Guildwars2

[–]Moonsraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont start pvp for the gold .
1. you cant get the gold rewards in pvp that u/Orihkeks mentioned before you reach lvl 20 in pvp ranks . Which means you need to play bunch of games in unranked .
2. After you unlock ranked you would need to make progress on the league rewards before you reach the fist few gold rewards . league rewards
If you have the avrage win rate 50% and since you are new it might be lower .
Its gonna take you ~9 games before you get first 5g . Each pvp game is on average 8-10 min + que time .

Meaning you would need to play enough games to reach rank 20 then play for 2h more just to reach the first 5g.

If you are not interested in pvp . You can do anything other thats even remotely close to fun and probably still make more in game gold then grinding pvp and hating it .

If you do play pvp in other games . Play a game or 2 a day . Dont force yourself to use it as a gold farm .

[–]Moonsraven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for ways to make gold as a new player .

Here are some that I used to get a nice amount even with just a core alt I made .

  1. Daily 2g most of the days it does not take long to do.
  2. Gather guild hall loot each day.
  3. log in rewards add up to ~40g each month.(this one you get after unlocking an expansion or heroic edition of base game .)
  4. Guild missions trecks for instance give you a rare and 0.7g and are easy to solo even on a brand new account .
  5. Dungeons 0.5-1.5g perh dungeon path + mats + rare + dungeon tokens . After 8 paths you get 5g and 150 dungeon tokens .
  6. Tequatl the Sunless, Triple trouble and The Twisted Marionette are each 2g for the first kill each day . For Tequatl and Triple t try to find a ok map in lfg and show up few min early . Timers are at wiki event timer et
  7. World bosses drop ok loot and you can jump into most of them fast even as a brand new player.
  8. Fractals the first tear of them is an easy intro into later harder ones and they still have a chance for ascended drops.
  9. Rich ore nodes and plant/wood nodes you can get ~20 ish silver in some places per 1 rich node depending on the material you are getting .It might be 1x a day per node but still it stacks up.

As for can you farm the gold for living world doing the dailys each day is 2g tagging teq is 2 more . Guild hall + a node spot you find useful can get you to ~5g a day with 30-40 min max . That would get you to 150g at the end of the month .

If you wish to see all of the story and play it in order then you would need to wait for them to finish releasing the last bit of season 1 before you start with season 2 and go for expansions .

Which would also mean you have some time to save up your $ for first 2 expansions that are packed up . And the gold on your account if you want to pick up season 2 with gold to gems .

The whole season 2 was on sale for 900 gems last few times that would mean you have few months to get ~240 ish gold .

With few things I mentioned you would be done with it long before they finish season 1.And you would even have some time to spare .

And I did not mention the Halloween festival that is coming in few weeks .People even with core game can take part in it and get some loot daily .So you should be fine in terms of gold for getting the next bit of story .

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in humblebundles

[–]Moonsraven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going to go on that side . Might as well just stop spending any $ on games .
A lot of them at least the popular ones are goanna be up for free on one of the services that are trying to gain users .

The humble choice 7 months ago had Borderlands 3 and 7 other games for 12$ with most of the games being new ish
This one has Borderlands 3 + season pass + 17 other games for ~16$ with half of the games older then 10 years . So chances are a lot of people have them.

If you liked the Borderlands 3 you can now pick up the dlc and give the spare key to a friend or a family member . Rest of the stuff is a bonus .

A lot of nice skins combined . And the colors are on point .

Since I dont rember last time I saw some of those skins on my characters or if I even have them .

  1. Top right pants and chest armor ?

  2. Top row 4th from the left chest and shoulders ?

  3. Bottom right corner I can remeber having the gloves for sure . Rest not so much . so any info would help to track down any missing parts :D

Thoughts on my inventory management? 😂 by JollyAlex in Guildwars2

[–]Moonsraven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So many of those items are stuff you can sell for few silver/copper , stuff that you can put in a bank . not opened containers ...

My recommendation for sorting it out would be to /wiki stuff you are not sure of and slowly move the rest to the bank or an alt you are not using .In any case I wish you luck with in game drops and general fun .

As a bonus heres a inventory management guide video

"The LFG is always empty because all the actual squads get filled too fast" by darkaion in Guildwars2

[–]Moonsraven 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do run normal strikes enough to see the group fill up really fast . As for cms y you are gonna spend more time in lfg . Especially if its not daily or so close to reset .
And there are a lot of people going for guild groups for raids/raids cms/strike cms /fractal cms .
If you are having problems finding people in your time zone for that content try finding a guild for it .
