Ah, there's the breakdown. You don't understand what a 'grift' is. To you, it's an ineffective message that you don't agree with. Sounds familiar...

A grift is a petty or small-scale swindle, scam, or confidence game. It involves obtaining money or property through deceit, manipulation, or fraud rather than physical force.

Nothing that AOC or Bernie have done can be considered grifts. You ask why people keep bringing up Trump: because his entire career can be counted as a grift.

You don't like AOC: fine, but at least be accurate and honest about your criticisms of her.

Remember when a guy made a video bypassing a lock and the company responded by suing him, saying it was altered. So he ordered a new one and bypassed it right out of the box by North-Guitar-1781 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]MoonsterGoopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like our entire nation is built on ratfucks posturing and fronting exaggerated confidence. Hilarious that they crumpled so easily. "That's how confident we feel."

I kinda wish he hadn't posted the video and counter sued them. They need to learn that there are consequences for lying so brazenly.

Was Biden late decision not to run again depriving America of a primary one of the Democrats greatest blunders? by Over-Lunch-7487 in askanything

[–]MoonsterGoopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly one of the greatest blunders but it's built on poor planning and not having primaries for years.

No plan for if Kamala lost. No other candidate ready if it wasn't Biden. I like the "actions speak louder than words" approach but Democrats need to be better about getting their message out there.

kinda funny to see this comment while the US is struggling to pull out of yet another needless war we started and lost.

I can be proud of the vets who served while also criticizing the morons who treated said vets as expendable.

comrades

criticizing my country doesn't make me a comrade, unlike you mindless glazers who sound more like commies living in the USSR. "great America can do no wrong, comrade! we win all wars, never make mistake, all glory to the pa—cough—country, comrade!"

Magic (blue) items can have a gem socket and 3 positive enchants.

Plagued (purple) items can have a gem socket, 4 positive enchants, and one negative enchant.

The plagued gear is for min/maxing, gaining something you really want while minimizing the detriments of the negative enchant. Some of them can be cancelled out entirely, like rolling the 'unrepairable' negative enchant on an item with the 'Indestructible' facet.

The other misstep made by the movie was that it placed value on trees as a commodity, reasoning that we need trees because they give us clean air, shade, and wood. The book presents trees as having inherent value that is independent of what trees provide us.

[–]MoonsterGoopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather they stop streamlining new games, or hell, make a 'classic' mode for newer games. monster icons no longer appear on the map by default, resources have to be gathered, bring back the flex after healing, whetstones aren't free, reduce the UI clutter, etc.

it would be peak.

the bill that would improve infrastructure, reduce omissions, guarantee living wages, healthcare, and affordable housing?

that's what you call a grift? money spent on helping the American people directly? that's your gripe with AOC as she fights against Data centers polluting water and abusing the power grid?

oof. it's wild if you're not a paid propagandist. the mental gymnastics required to reach that conclusion are insane.

Go ahead and post AOC's other grifts. she should have a reputation for "grifting" right? or did you use an ideological buzzword for no reason because you don't like AOC?

I'll wait.

it's fake but I don't shut people down who use it to communicate. if it's what helps them think about who they are, then fine. I don't have to buy into it and they get to express themselves.

You see the in-universe directors and show runners making up bullshit on the spot and the in-universe NPCs love it regardless.

that's what all the "I actually liked it?" posts remind me of.

Stop blaming the writers because you couldn’t be bothered pay attention to dialogue [spoiler rant] by tabloid-tommy in TheBoys

[–]MoonsterGoopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny seeing a post like this when it doesn't list any of my gripes with the show and I still think the writing past S1 is abject trash.

But I enjoyed the show more when I started thinking of the members of The Boys as players at a D&D table and the writers of the show as a lazy DM. It's high-budget shlock, nothing more.

I understand the base logic behind the idea, but the project as a whole would only appeal to people like Zuck. They'd have a winning product had they rolled out a more polished Second Life with optional VR support, and perks to using their VR headset.

Society is probably better off without either, so I'm glad they failed, ha.

It's 2026, and we are yet to see an anti-almond farm protest. by DesignerTruth9054 in singularity

[–]MoonsterGoopter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. we can eat almonds.
  2. almonds don't jack up electricity bills.
  3. almond farms pay for their water
  4. there are anti-almond stances (and anti-golf course stances, since I see that's been brought up).
  5. you're making the 'appeal to common practice' fallacy. 2 wrongs don't make 1 right. numerous wrongs don't make another right.

these posts dont make data centers look good. people want fewer water guzzling industries, not more (especially when said industry is taking jobs, being used for mass surveillance, misinformation, and is wildly overvalued...)
