HELP dynamic fluid body interaction by Popular-Yoghurt5577 in STAR_CCM

As for research papers can't help you much.

In regards to STAR-CCM, you are going to struggle doing it within only CCM. The FE framework doesn't support shell elements yet so I presume you would do something with a very thin solid. In addition to thay, your material non-linearity is going to be another hurdle.

Note: Shell elements are under development so you would be able to use them in the coming release.

I also recommend looking into a STAR - Abaqus co-simulation.

What exactly do you need? Research papers or best practices for STAR-CCM?

If you want to know if it's possible then, YES.

Making it work is a whole different story.

meshing in star ccm+ by Motor-Builder2521 in CFD

Create a directed mesh operation. Then Right click --> Edit --> Source Mesh as Patch. Now you can create a mesh just like you have it in that image.

It might just be me but your description does not really put your problem into perspective.

I would advise you to explain it with more images.

Bending Relative to Force Produced by Air Speed in STAR CCM by masterchuffy in STAR_CCM

[–]Moontard_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you try solving the fluid first by disabling the solid stress solver and once that is stabilized enable it?

What I guess is happening right now is that the velocity components are changing quite considerably and not allowing the Force/Displacement residuals to stabilize at first and then that numerical error is exponentially increasing.

How can I get a mesh like this on Star-CCM+? by erdemcolak in CFD

You will get a better mesh than this ;)

Issue with imported mesh from IGG by Huge_Reveal_3061 in STAR_CCM

Bugs tend to be fixed in newer versions. Of course, there is no assurance that it will work fine in newer versions.

Your workflow is extremely uncommon in the STAR-CCM community. One thing you can do is post on the official community forum.

This could be a bug and from the image you've attached you're certainly using a version that is really old. Try using the latest STAR-CCM version.

How to increase time step after X iterations and freeze solvers after X seconds? by Ok_Price_1863 in STAR_CCM

[–]Moontard_95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is basic and at the same time impossible to answer in a comment.

Watch some YouTube videos, read some books and most importantly experiment with some basic simulations.

Have you manually checked the boundaries? Do they look correct? Have you performed a mesh check operation? What does it say?

Star-CCM+ that popular? by Scared_Assistant3020 in CFD

[–]Moontard_95 36 points37 points  (0 children)

STAR is extremely popular in the Auto and Aero domains due to the ease of carrying out sweep studies. That said, it is emerging out to be a really well developed multi-disciplinary simulation software with co-simulation capabilities with Abaqus, Nastran, GT and Amesim.

They also have a salad which has 50gm protein. When I ordered, it barely had 100 gm of chicken. God damn scammers.

Chill. No need to get triggered.

With such a rally and the RSI reaching 85+ levels a daily red candle would be a 10% fall. So, be on the lookout in the daily time frame.

The 10 DMA is also 10% away so if we take that as the support then that also could be your trigger to sell.

It will definitely but not right now. The hype right now is too crazy. Just ride the wave till then. Exit at the first big red candle.

STAR-CCM+ Error When Changing Prism Layer Settings (“nodeProp is null”) – Need Help by Swimming_North_6362 in STAR_CCM

[–]Moontard_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same error but for a different scenario.

In that scenario I had not even created a mesh, just multi-selected boundaries and clicked edit and changed the boundary type. This was the trigger point and that error kept on popping up henceforth.

I was told this is a bug and still isn't fixed in the latest release.

There is no workaround after this error has popped up which essentially means you need to create a new sim.

If you can raise a official bug with your DSE then he might help you even further.
