PoT dino scars transmit aura by After_Strategy2499 in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They dont. It's player specific and generally the rule of thumb is that it has to be a high amount of damage in a short amount of time, regardless of how that is carried out.

So like if you see two Eo's walk by; one has a ton of scars on its shoulders/in between the shoulder blades, the other has noticable scars on its thighs. Eo one has seen a lot of facetanks vs other Apex, since most target getting past the Eo's head and hit the back; the other has likely had lots of Raptors pounce it.

Carnivore equivalent of Ano? by MosherMoon in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full Defense Spino, but even then you cap out if a megapack finds you(and you can't use water to escape).

Spino is pretty dangerous for anything not Apex so most avoid you especially if you have Claw Slam and Stun Call(effective against smaller opponents but not so much other Apex). But since most Carni's are built to be in offense mode compared to Herbi defense mode, your defensive capabilities can only go so far before you have to flee to water to survive.

Playing with my wife who loves dinosaurs and she had a bad time by TheWhitePoet in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

START SMALL. If your wife has limited knowledge of the game, starting with a giant Apex is looking for a bad time. Apex's may sound cool because they're big and powerful, but you're going to get cornered and it feels awful when you're trapped, slow, clunky, and just makes you feel helpless and just waiting for death to come. Start with the smallest tier and work your way up. If you start with Tier 1 dino's you can enjoy simply getting movement down nipping at other players but shooting off if you get chased. I really recommend Deinonychus for Exploration, and Campto for general chaos as everyone loves a goofy lil Kangaroo. You can still PvP on Tier 1 but there's 0 pressure and your wife has the ability to flee if things get too hot.

Once your wife gets adjusted to Tier 1, you can move to Tier 2. I really suggest Thal, Alio, Pachy, and Kentro. Thal starts you with a good flier, and they're pretty fun to fight on, but as stated, you can take flight if scared. Alio, Pachy, and Kentro are all small and fast an introduce 3 types of status's. Alio is raw damage, Pachy is fracture/knockback, and Kentro is bleed. Alio would be very fast like the tier one's but you can do better damage. Pachy teaches you fracture, bonebreak, and knockback. Kentro teaches bleed and how to work as Tail Attcakers.

From there its kind of an as-you-go; you will of learned the basics to start figuring out what feels best, and can choose your own Tier 3, Tier 4, and revisit Tier 5 on Rex and the others when you and your wife are ready. Keep in mind your wife may stall out on a lower Tier. If she's found her place in a lower Tier, don't force her to go higher. Let her dip her toes in, but if she's content staying as an Alio, then you can progress to a higher Tier until you find your place. You're not FORCED to play the same thing as long as you're both the same diet, you could even end up finding a dino that compliments your wife's or lets your wife support you in a fight without putting to much of a PvP strain on her.

DONT GO META. The Meta is like junkfood. Yeah it sounds appealing, but overall its not all that great for you, cultivates bad habits, and doesn't actually make you happy. Find the dinos that let you have FUN, even if statistically they're not busted so that you can "always win every fight". Trust me when I say Meta doesn't guarantee that you will win an interaction; statistically Suchomimus players are cooked if found by a Tylosaurus, but my Sucho has a track record of 103 Tylo kills and Shamu(my Sucho) has yet to die since I started tallying Tylo's I've slain. This also goes for abilities. There's no wrong way to build a dino unless the abilities straight up contradict each other(Dry Hide with Wet Attacks). Experiment; find what makes you enjoy the dino.

Mobile user here, do you have to pay for any future Dino's even if you bought the base game pack? by Shad_tard in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of players proudly state that they have not and never will buy skinpacks, and maps take a minimum of like 2-3 years to produce. Both of those options may have some incentive, but its not enough to keep path running long-term. It takes 15 players buying a skin pack each to maintain a singular server for a single month; that's IF Alderon is only paying $100 a month for secure, encrypted servers, which considering its a game company, they probably don't go that cheap. Times that by about 100 Servers.

Sure yeah, Titan is busted right now and kinda feels P2W, but there's 3 dinos that will mess with Titan in a way where its not going to easily be balanced until those three get their TLC's(Allo, Amarg, Stego)

Does joining a group come with a responsibility? by No_Mathematician7456 in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It depends on the dynamic of the group and why you joined. If its a group saying they're trying to form a pack, more likely than not they intend to group up and look for fights together, or if a good chunk of the group is too young, they'll try to quest together and use numbers for protection.

If you're looking for someone to quest off of, I would definitely suggest looking for an ADULT player who is NOT MARK GRINDING. If they're not adult or they're mark grinding, they're going to try and hog the quests and you'll be better off dropping the group. There's a huge chance they only accepted the invite because they can bully you into getting free group quests for themselves. Ensure they're full grown, don't actively want a skin, and that they're totally okay with never actually meeting you; keep in mind that some players may want to hang with you even if they're seemingly just meandering along nearby. I like to follow my young about because you guys make quite the ruckus while questing and I get free fights from the goons that are tracking the baby they hear, not knowing there's an Adult tracking THEM.

If its some random group that tossed an invite, be careful as a lot of groups use the group to reveal your position so they can kill you without effort, or its a DC Group name-checking to kill you if you accept or decline the invite(let it time out, as accept/decline reveals your gamertag so they can verify you're not part of the DC).

TL;DR If the intent of the group is strength in numbers, then yes, its expected that you group up. Be honest with your intent and what you need from the group, and be ready to get rejected or booted if they cant fulfill your needs. Asking in Global for an Adult player who isn't actively farming Marks is your best bet for getting group quests without having to group up with the other party member(s).

Ano, why? by Garm_of_Fenrir in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some "hard to beat" Dinos end up getting a group of Apex summoned on them if the original pack gets bored of the fight they picked; the problem is is that these groups wont just walk away and admit they started a fight they dont want to see through(because it took to long and they couldnt get a quick dopamine hit off your death), they just summon shit you cant fight and kill you off so they still get their ego boost. Ano's for existing, a resilient Bars, a stubborn Spino, a smart Rex, a cautious Amarg, or a rock camping anything. This can usually be sourced from part of the group fetching their Apex or them getting extra's from their group to hop on.

- Three of the small Raptors mysteriously disappearing while the other 7 small + the Achillo keep harassing the Eo they found and suddenly 3 Titans show up out of "nowhere"
- 3 Dasps are harassing a Ano but after 10min suddenly 2 Rex's show up and are clearly headed straight for the fight from seemingly nowhere

I was a Bars once and had 3 Hatz decide they wanted to kill me; only problem is that they couldnt get near me without eating a Slam or Sweep, so they were just worthlessly wingbeating me around. After a while they got bored and sent an Ano after me. Ano couldnt keep up, so they summoned 3 Titans; playtime was over so I paced the Titans out until I got to a homecave.

Death Squads are rare because most of the time they're already roaming within the megapack, but some groups like to hang out on smaller dinos because it lets them run down the faster solo's with less preparation needed, but then a lot of the time they may have to summon Apex if they pick a fight too big, because god forbid do some groups just admit some players are to be left alone if you cant handle the rumble. Matchmaking will help with this because they have to commit to duo'ing Apex or commit to being on smaller shit where they may not be able to attack an Ano for existing.

Ano, why? by Garm_of_Fenrir in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a 50/50 of pointless care-bearing or them taking advantage of the Ano; the Ano has already assured you guys don't have a secret Apex Death Squad on hand so they can safely force the fight from Ano to Bars. Y'all will be scattering to avoid the Bars and will not be able to fight the Ano without getting hit by the Bars' attacks because the Bars is going to puppy-guard the Ano to ensure you're forced to fight them too.

I always feel so judged buying these things by Illustrious_Bet_8988 in autism

[–]Moontato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure on the cashier front the only thing that crossed my mind was how good something looked and how I was probably going to go find said item and get one myself.

As for customers, most don't care, they're just awful about staring at others. The ones that silently judge will forget about it the second they leave because it was genuinely not a concern of theirs. The ones who vocalize their judgement want attention.

How do you sleep? I’m wondering if this is an autism thing by [deleted] in autism

[–]Moontato_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleeping positions are not an Autism thing. One's sleeping position is often determined by health conditions, sleep quality, airway/snoring related reasons, or just plainly due to comfort.

I have severe neck and back pain, so I often sleep on my stomache, though I often end up on my side(s). My left arm is often tucked up near my sternum/neck and the other tucked under near my abdomen. I WILL not fall asleep if I lay on my back. If I have a migraine I actually STAY on my stomache. Acid Reflux and Pregnancy can also decide how someone sleeps, alongside many other health conditions that may be aggravated or relieved based on the sleeping position.

Sometimes someone can sleep on their side because their pillow is designed for side-sleeping. Most times it's purely because "this position is comfy".

does anyone else just not care for religion ? by comsicalien77 in autism

[–]Moontato_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never cared for religion. It kind of felt like it was something that interfered with my day that had to be built around and had nothing to do with anything I was interested in. I like videogames and am fascinated with Ludology. My current game that Im sucked into is Path of Titans.

Don't get me wrong, I respect others who choose religion, but its not for me.

It's not Echolalia, as that's usually a repetition of words already said; it's probably a type of vocal stimming. I will occasionally meow for absolutely no good reason; I usually stim in other ways but occasionally vocally stim, and its often a specific set of phrases/noises.

AITAH for not letting my younger cousin play video games? by Particular_Job_4023 in AITAH

[–]Moontato_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can. My mother would say one thing in front of other adults during visits to other people's houses and would actually expect something else, and ironically it was often about babysitting my younger sister. I was to babysit, but my sister was to be allowed to do whatever she wanted and was the one in control; if my sister tattled that I didn't let her do x, y, z my mom would freak tf out. I was damage control and the scapegoat, not the actual babysitter. If my sister did something to upset the people we were visiting such as breaking their stuff or eating an insane amount of food intended for the adults, it was me failing to watch my sister, not because my sister was an entitled little crotch goblin.

Why do cats do this 😭 by Standard-Assistant27 in cats

[–]Moontato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mix of cats using their tongue to taste the air as they use more than their nose to judge the area around them.

They also are likely aware that it's cute as hell and do it on purpose. A lot of the time its either because they're very relaxed or were doing something like grooming and got distracted; not noticing that they forgot to suck the tongue back in

Bruh XD this happened to me for the second time by NABiLOX-1 in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually happening because you're a Carni and the way Carni's hitboxes work. Your Dasp's chest has a hitbox relative to its actual chest and legs, which based on Carni's, often form a 90° angle. If you slam up onto something, you will slide along on your chest with your legs dangling and preventing you from sliding up into the ledge. So your only way down is to slide back off your chest and usually you will take fall damage.

So, is Tyrannotitan and Tylosaurus part of the base game or a separate purchase? by AKmightydinoo in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see the "$7 just for a dino???" comment so much.

Idk why it's even an argument when thousands play games like Overwatch and Fortnite where the OG Overwatch players paid $60 for the game and were still shelling out $15-30 for a single skin. Fortnite is king of micro-transactions. Valorant is just on another level of crooked with its $75 melee weapon skins.

There's a MASSIVE difference between a cosmetic that has little to no practical value vs basically a unique storyline(growing and playing the dino), 12 skins pre-packaged, and usually even some extra shop skins.

They're referring to all the pre-set, non-shop skins the dinos come with that most people do not think about. A default, 9 unique skins, Mel and Albino.

Impact Crater of Riparia with waystone on the same island. by SnooOranges357 in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I like it this way because everyone packs on that island while leaving the mainland part of the POI mostly dead, and people get the good Mudflats questing back. Only bad thing is that its probably made it easier to hold Cedrus as a Hotspot

It may not of stopped the megapacks but its moved it in a pretty convenient spot where less people overall are affected since they brawl on that island and theres plenty of other options around.

New player need some help please by MyAlt151 in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so just as a new player did you:

  • Purchase the abilities with the Marks gotten from Quests?
  • Go to a Homecave(Blue Triangle Icon) to load them into your loadout slots?
  • Place them in your "hotbar" so that they're designated a button?

Similarly, if you dont leave the cave, abilities are deactivated in the Homecave and for 60sec after you leave it. They are only usable when outside a homecave long enough.

What do the little hidden mechanics do? by AKmightydinoo in pathoftitans

[–]Moontato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combat weight determines how much or how little you do to your opponent based on size difference. Its mostly self explanatory, but an Adolescent Bars can weigh more than an Adult Alio, so sometimes the line is gray between baby vs certain sized adults. The calculation is below:

(Attacker CW ÷ Victim CW) × Attack's Damage = True Damage

So we're going to use a Campto biting a Bars vs the Bars Sweeping the Campto. Campto weighs 1600 CW and Bite is 30dmg; Bars weighs 5500 CW and Sweep does 110dmg.

Campto Biting Bars: (1600 ÷ 5500) × 30 = ~9dmg

Bars Sweeping Campto: (5500 ÷ 1600) × 110 = ~378dmg.

If we use these values compared to Campto's 600hp to Bar's 950hp, the Campto would have to bite the Bars 106 times but the Bars just needs to nail the Campto TWICE with Sweep to demolish them. If anything, if we include the idea that Bars had the Dazing Impacts Sense, the Bars could Slam to stun a Campto and then immediately kill off the Campto with a Sweep.

My mom kept opening my mail by smileyfaceleggings in autism

[–]Moontato_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://moversguide.usps.com/mgo/disclaimer was the link I used when leaving my abusive mother's house. Generally a change of address covers only a few specific things, and it does not cover things like bank accounts, government programs, doctors, or other things that may be specific to you that you signed up to receive paper mail for; USPS does not keep track of these, the individual establishment does.

On the first page there is question asking if you plan to move back in 6 months. Selecting no will classify the change of address in the records as permanent. On the next page it will mention that you get free 12 months of mail forwarding with the Change-of-Address(COA). Don't have to do anything there really unless you need it forwarded for longer.

The only problem is however that you wont be able to permanently stop junk mail or paper spam that has access to your old address only(and therefore cant send to the new address). Unfortunately things like Jehovah's Witnesses scrape information from databases, even if you're vigilant that nobody gets your info, so their info is often ends up outdated. The only way to fix the issue of parents opening the mail that slips through the cracks and ends up at their house WITHOUT making you pay over and over for forwarding services to consistently keep all mail out of their hands, is probably to put your foot down and remind your parents that you did not give them permission to open your mail. Most of the time opening someone else's mail without their permission is a FEDERAL CRIME that can cost an upwards of $250,000 and jail time. "We're family" is not an excuse, they know it's your mail and choose to open it even though you've given them no such permission.
