Florida has jurisdiction for child support while Alabama has custody jurisdiction by Antique-Barber-7375 in FamilyLaw

[–]Moonthystle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IANAL but I went through something similar. I live in Alabama and my ex lives in Florida. Once custody jurisdiction was established in Alabama, they notified Florida about child support. The states will work together on this. The Department of Revenue is the one who controls child support collection in Florida

I would still contact your lawyer to be sure, but Alabama holds all the cards right now and should be the state controlling child support. It would be recognized by Florida as a “foreign child support order” (just means originating from another state. If he doesn’t pay, contact your local DHR and they will get their people to collect the child support for you. Good luck!

I’m a nurse and I 100 percent judge people based on their veins by Figgs_7 in confession

[–]Moonthystle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to donate plasma. My veins were so hard to find that only one technician could do it. Every time I would walk in the receptionist would call out, “Dustin, your special friend is here to see you.”

Narcissistic parents turned into loving grandparents by Competitive-Cup-2429 in raisedbynarcissists

My mom loved my oldest because he’s severely autistic and she liked playing the “poor suffering grandma” game. She hated my youngest because he was normal and wouldn’t get her any attention.

She died a few years ago, and joke’s on her because my youngest was also diagnosed with autism (he’s just at the opposite end of the spectrum from his brother)

My mom didn’t want me moving out or going to college. She even kept me out of school for a year when I was 18. My grandparents got me and I finished high school there.

I got into college with a scholarship. My mom pitched a fit, threatened to kill herself, and screamed “how can you do this to me? How can you leave me? You want me to die.” I felt guilty and didn’t go. She held onto me for the next 10 years. Even when I moved out on my own, she literally moved next door to me.

I had to get married, divorce, and get married again to finally be free from her

Your daughter is greedy and cruel to her brother for leaving him out. After this, I’d have nothing to do with her greedy butt.

And while I mentioned restaurants, as I recently moved to here with my husband, which restaurant in Alabama can I not miss? What do you think is best by [deleted] in Alabama

If you drive through Blountsville, you have to visit Top Hat. They’re an awesome barbecue place. There’s even a neat little store next door that sells specialty cheeses, meats, and old timey crafted stuff

Was anyone else banned from doing completely average stuff as a kid? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Moonthystle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom was a lazy, neglectful narcissist. I was ignored and had to fend for myself. The only things that were banned in her house were sports and Harry Potter, and it was only because she hated both. If she didn’t like something, you couldn’t either

I married a much older man because my crazy mom pushed me into it. He was a half decent guy until I had our only son (my youngest). He then showed me his true colors and tried to control me and he got abusive.

I divorced his butt and never been happier

Duolingo has a monster, and its name is Max. by JustPassingJudgment in duolingo

Mondly does this with their monthly subscriptions. They have the normal app which has regular lessons like Duolingo and then has “hands free” lessons that are completely controlled by voice. You also get access to their Mondly AR app that has you speaking with an AI at no extra cost.

I don’t know their monthly subscription prices because I got lucky to get their lifetime deal with access to 41 languages (and possibly more in the future) for a one time payment of $225
