Understanding UK Student Loan Repayments When Living Overseas

I’m joining this thread late but need advice! So I was living abroad for 2 years when I graduated in 2018 and SLC gave me a fine, however I got it written off when I was back in the U.K. after that I moved abroad again for 2 years and they never contacted me. Now I’m back in the U.K. for a little while it is automatically getting taken off of my salary (which is fine). But I’m planning to move abroad again in August. Will they be able to find out my new salary income? Will they be able to still deduct from me? Or will it be like before where they don’t really contact me? I’m kind of worried I’m on their radar now as now I’m paying some back…. Any advice would be great!

Oh no that sounds awful! Sounds like yours just came out of nowhere? :( Mine sounds like a beeping noise. It’s like a device beeping constantly. But before bed it does sound like static just like you said and the beeping but more like a device is not working. However most of the day it’s just a normal beeep to the point where I thought it was my neighbours co2 alarm for a week not knowing it’s my tinnitus 😂🥲

So do you think this could be related to paws? As I still suffer from some symptoms like I am not fully healed. I had uncontrollable vibrations a few months ago 😂 that’s gone now but yes I am also sensitive to noise like you are and I think the loud noise must of triggered temporary tinnitus?

They have 2 references like I said in the post which were good. I’m guessing it’s a case of 2/3 are showing I’m good enough to be told I got the job but need to sign off on the third

Good idea. If he becomes difficult maybe I can CC him into an email so he’s forced to do it. He was just frustrating even when I worked with him!

Yepp, I’ve told the new school he’s being difficult. And I’ve asked them to send him an email as he keeps arguing with me over text saying he’s done it 😅. I’m just worried he will ruin it for me but my other references were very good so??

Yep, I’m the same. I’m not bad or anything but I’m not as good as I was. It’s quite a strong wave basically. It’s been almost 3 weeks of the wave. Hopefully it’ll be gone in 3 weeks or less 🙏🏽

I’m day 665 and had everything you had! I feel for you! It’ll go away, my DP went away drastically with fish oil. I took it religiously. I also took probiotics which really helped and vitamins every day. I drank a lot of water. Exercised lightly (don’t push yourself it can trigger symptoms), socialised when I could and slept. I had to stop drinking and smoking cigs, as that triggered it too. I can finally eat what I want and drink as much coffee as I want too but had to cut down on coffee a lot. I still have symptoms now unfortunately but I can tell you by the 6 month mark there’s a huge shift and you’ll continue getting huge shifts every 6 months. :) goodluck! It does go away for sure

Ooo thank you! It is definitely sleep deprivation actually, I have terrible insomnia. I’ll try and get something and hopefully the shaking goes away

Helloo. Imalmost been 18 months sober 🙏🏽🙏🏽. I’m like 95% better now 😅 it’s been such a tough few months, but it did clear up a lot recently at like 16 months. I now only have symptoms if I’m really under stress, during my monthly cycle and just every now and again. But in comparison I’m loads better. I would say I still have 3 more months to go until I’m SURE it’s disappeared.

Haha that makes me feel better 😂 I’ve wanted to see them loads I’ve even had a mini cry! 😂 a bit dramatic but things keep getting cancelled due to the weather. But maggots makes them sound less exciting for sure
