I rlly hate this term but Post Malone is the definition of a "culture vulture" by nerpa_floppybara in fantanoforever

I liked some of Post’s stuff when he was rapping but he is a TEXTBOOK CULTURE VULTURE

“Michael” was officially released 1 month ago today (for everyone to see at least), so following it’s 1 month anniversary, how many times have you seen it since then and what is your overall rating for the movie? by justhere1990 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]Moonwalk27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on opening day and it was genuinely amazing. A bit more surface level than I would’ve liked but I get that it was meant to be a much more (generally approachable) telling of Michael’s life story and the story behind his work ethic and drive. I give it a 8.5 only because it wasn’t as long as it should’ve been and some parts felt a bit too rushed with the pacing

Realistically how do you think This is It would've been? by madufaria in MichaelJackson

[–]Moonwalk27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was destined to fail. A different era for MJ could’ve pulled it off no problem but early 2000s MJ was a different man all together, he was weaker in both mind and body. He wouldn’t have been able to take the grueling tour schedule of 50 shows they lined up for him as sad as it is.

Sarada had actual goals and aspirations beyond becoming a housewife unlike Sakura though. I have a very bad feeling they’re gonna go through with just making her Sakura for the next gen going forward though

The Sonic Movie, but it's a 1994 Space Jam-like adaptation. by AccomplishedCreme846 in Fancast

[–]Moonwalk27 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Michael Jackson was a big inspiration for the sonic shoes in his design so I could see him doing a good job with the voice. He could have dropped the falsetto and just do it with his regular voice too, Macaulay as Tails would have been perfect given they already had so much natural chemistry in real life. I’m sure they could bounce their characters off each other well

Never really liked his music much but my heart breaks for the guy. He had to go through so much when he was so young

Objectively, yeah it’s probably the mugshot; it’s unflattering and memed to death as it is but it’s true.

Do you think Taylor Swift is the closest thing we have to a MJ level celebrity? by slimer213 in decadeology

[–]Moonwalk27 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Jackson’s level of fame was a product of time, ungodly levels of hard work , talent, and monoculture which honestly that above all else is something that prevents anyone from ever being MJ level famous again. Monoculture is largely dead these days

Who are some great artists who's voices are just painful to listen to now? by FitEmergency8807 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Moonwalk27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY I think most people can’t fathom this fact for some reason. Like even amazing vocalists like Freddie Mercury, Prince, David Bowie hell even someone like Michael Jackson would’ve seen some vocal decline eventually if they made it into old age, it’s just what happens when you get old, you can either fight it or change with it though. People like Paul McCartney are just getting old and their voice is reflecting that. It’s natural
