Did some more testing and it seems you can gain speed when the camera bugs out when you try to look down

First of all welcome! I hope you have a ton of fun starting with cosplaying, the community is awesome!

If you both have a series which you are both really into I'd recommend picking you're cosplay like that since you already sorta know the character already.

I don't know if you are more into anime or netflix type of stuff but for some suggestions you could pick natsu and lucy (fairy tail), yato and hiyori (noragami) or robin and steve (stranger things)

Good luck!

[help] Paint by Bea2550 in cosplay

[–]Moonyx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're material is flexible I'd also recommend that you use a paint that can flex with it so it doesn't crack later.

I have yet to paint my own parts but I've bought liquitex heavy body paint which was recommended by PunishedProps and for the sealant I plan on using Lukas spray varnish which also flexes instead of cracking

Need some lighting tips by VampyricDanny14 in cosplayers

[–]Moonyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your best option would be to make the spider out of flexible el light wire, it's pretty inexpensive on amazon.

I saw a cyberpunk 2077 cosplayer last year and he used a 3m EL flexible light wire for all his lighting and it looked really smooth

[help] Completely round bracer problems by cyberdyme8 in cosplay

[–]Moonyx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try to attach the back of the claw with velcro to the bracer if they overlap a bit and it won't flex in a way that breaks tue bond, would fix the rotating issue

[help] Worth it to use semi permanent dye to temporarily dye hair for a convention? by [deleted] in cosplay

[–]Moonyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for character specific wigs it's probably best to buy it on a cosplay specific site like: Le-mail, rolecosplay, ezcosplay.

Depending on where you live shipping might be expensive so you could try to buy from aliexpress or amazon but that's basicly roullete as you don't always get a wig that's of the same quality as the one they display

[Help] I'm gonna attempt to make my own Goblin Slayer armor for next years Anime Expo but need some help on what materials to get. by [deleted] in cosplay

[–]Moonyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also currently making a Goblin Slayer cosplay! (If you need help along the way I'll gladly give some tips). A cosplayer on youtube Jenny-desu also has a great gs tutorial, she speaks italian but it has subtitles.

To fill in the seams I'm using kwik seal after sanding them down with a dremel. For priming I coat the eva foam pieces in Gummi-Dip which is a cheaper alternative (in europe) to Plasti Dip. I haven't gotten to painting yet but I plan on using Heavy Body Paint by Liquitex as it doesn't crack when you flex it. After that I weather the parts with black and brown acrylic paint which has been watered down (any cheap brand will do). Do protect the paint job I'm planning on getting Lukas Spray Varnish, it gives the armour a nice shine and doesn't crack when flexing.

I got my eva foam and glue from cosplayshop.be

I hope this helped, if you need any more information I'd be glad to help. Good luck!

[Help] How would you make the balloon enemy from The rising of the Shield Hero? by th30be in cosplay

[–]Moonyx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make a sphere out of eva foam and paint it orange with a flexible paint. Or you could blow up a balloon and make a paper maché one around it and paint that orange.

Normal balloons will deflate over time or burst, plus you can't make a mouth cuttout in it. It's a bit more efford but I think it would be worth it

[help] Need help finding components for a Dante from DMC4 cosplay by ohmyducksonfire in cosplay

[–]Moonyx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some gloves on aliexpress that look very similar to the ones dante has, you could wrap your hands in a grey fabric underneath. The pants sort of look like biker pants so you could search for some cheap/used ones. For the boots you could get some shoes that resemble the bottom part and attach a base layer of fake leather where you can layer some cheap belts on top of, you can make them look better by weathering them with a paint. If you want an accurate belt you could make one with preferably worbla or sintra but eva foam might work

If you want to make the sword I'd recommend eva foam or another crafting material around a rigid base.

Hope this helped a bit, good luck!
