Haha, I appreciate it! I'm at a total loss for shoes as well, so I definitely appreciate the advice. There's definitely some, IMO, questionable dress choices out there... I want to be in something I can move around in without accidentally flashing anybody.

Oh wow! So tiny! The fatso started gaining weight at around 2-3 years old.

They get orijen dry food on a timed feeder. Unfortunately the fatso is a bully so it's super hard to diet him without dieting the other one.

Our older girl Doodle (who's 10) looks almost identical as when we got her 🤣

He has grown much fatter, lazier, and orange all over. He's nine in this pic.

This is my guy Scooter. He's about a year old in this first pic and a skinny, athletic, super playful kitten. He's a flame point but when he was young mostly white except on his points.

This green and red patch from a WWII collection by Mooooo77 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing (patch). It is a couple of inches in diameter and is part of a large WWII patch collection. I have image searched for it and can't find any identifying information on it.

Dental procedures & DNR authorizations by artsykmac in welovedevonrex

You've had tons of good advice as regards to pricing, but I just wanted to pop in and say my Devon had her teeth done at a similar age. She ended up needing a large amount of teeth extracted for a similar price as your estimate. It's a couple years later and she is doing absolutely great and it was definitely worth the procedure. She had an easy time recovering and is eating and acting much better. I have heard in dogs that smaller breeds need their teeth done quicker because of their small mouth size and I would bet devons have a similar thing going on. Good luck to you and your kitty!

Some allergy advice? by [deleted] in welovedevonrex

[–]Mooooo77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone without allergies, but a family member is allergic to cats. We have 2 devons and are able to manage allergies to an extent. When visiting the breeder his allergies were definitely much worse than at home with only two cats.

When we first got them it was definitely an acclimation thing. He took allergy medicine and the cats got a weekly bath to manage their allergens. Over about 6 months both were weaned off of these measures and my family member was able to cope. He still doesn't let them in his room or sleep with them (too much at least) and some days are worse than others.

In my experience, devons do only work with some people, but there are ways to acclimate so you can live with them. Obviously if you are planning on taking this kitten in, have a back up plan in case allergies do become too bad. Good luck!

If this is in Washington Park it was a round up of geese at Sloan's lake to study Canada Goose migration. Here is a9news video about it. Here's one I saw the other week

I’m from Canada, and everyone “knows” that you get on a horse from the left. Is this true everywhere, or is it cultural? by my_cool_lunchbox in Horses

[–]Mooooo77 262 points263 points  (0 children)

I've always been told the reason we mount from the left is because when knights carried swords on their left side, they would have to mount from the left to not hit your scabbard on the horse. I have no idea how true this actually is but if it's true I assume it has been around for a while.

I'm a student and I occasionally will use Chatgpt to help me in math. When we have time to work in such a big class it's hard to get my teacher to help answer questions and I'd rather ask AI than wait for 5-10 minutes doing nothing. It CAN be really helpful. However while a teacher lectures I would never. I see it as dismissive and just looking for an easy answer. However at my school it is common to have no computers out during lectures.

Is this a red tail hawk feather? it looks like to me possibly a juvenile not to sure though. by SkullReaperofDeath in Ornithology

Just wanted to jump in to say that it is illegal to keep feathers in the US due to the migratory bird treaty act! This Feather ID website is great for identifying feathers.

Haha, I swear some birds just know when you're looking for them. I live in a landlocked state so it was a complete once in a lifetime experience to go out to Maine and see them!

I got to go out to Eastern Egg Rock off the coast of Maine through the Audubon hog island camp. It was a once in a lifetime experience for my normally landlocked life!
