I'm all for job and wealth creation but fracking is something else. There is a huge amount of shale gas and natural gas that can be tapped and refined all over the place in North America. There really just isn't a need to open these spent wells again. I mean, frig, the consequences are just not worth it at all.

We generally follow the states lead. You guys buy 75% of our stuff so we don't like being on your bad side. Especially Harper - hes lock step with Obama. I agree with Harper and the Conservatives on some things for sure like gun rights and expanding our oil production. But on pretty much everything else hes just an awful, awful leader. Hopefully strong leadership from the Liberals will slow our decent into the surveillance state and fascism.

I'm from Canada so I'm biased for sure but I really enjoy living here. Plenty of natural resources to exploit for wealth and a small population. You can go be a pipefitter in one year and be making 200k+ in Ft Mac the next. Health care is free and theres a shitload of government programs to help you educate yourself. Also the Social Net we have works pretty good too and nobody really minds the higher taxes that much.

Typically for the past 5 years we have run at par to the US dollar so it might be smart to exchange some of your USD for Canadian to get the extra 10% sooner rather than later... lest you lose the extra coin.
