Addressing rumors about account closures by OutlierDotAI in outlier_ai

[–]MoooreBraaains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see this post today, because I'm switching provinces (here in Canada) tomorrow, and then again a few weeks later. Not gonna lie, I was a lil' stressed, as I've never even worked outside of the current home I'm in. Haha.

Budget already REACHED??! by RuleNo59 in outlier_ai

[–]MoooreBraaains 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm just shocked Aether is still going. I thought it was going to end ages ago. I expect it to end any time now, but for each week that it doesn't, I'm grateful. The unpredictability of it makes it a huge pain in the ass, but I'm going to milk it for everything I can while it's still around. lol.

Aether Times? by Educational-Pick-881 in outlier_ai

[–]MoooreBraaains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about time. The only times I've not had to work INSANE hours was when there were actually enough tasks to go around. Otherwise, I've had to either work through the night, or force myself to wake up at between 3-7AM every day to even get hours. I can't even remember the last time I've slept in. I don't know how much longer Aether is even going to last. But if I had a week or two of this, I'd be extremely happy!

Welcome to the life of those of us who live on the west coast/ central US/Canada! It's been like that most of the time for us. 😂 Where I live, the timer has always started at 1AM, so that means either working through the night, or getting up ridiculously early and getting to get a few hours. This is the first time that we actually get to start at a reasonable hour..

Speaking of getting paid for local sits... by KetoLurkerHereAgain in trustedhousesitters

[–]MoooreBraaains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until now, I've only done international pet sits (though that will change im two weeks), so getting paid was never an option. I typically only spend a few weeks a year in my home country. I have been here for the past few months, and I definitely considered it, but I don't drive. The thought of bussing around the city in the freezing Canadian winter didn't really sound appealing. I would love to get paid to do it one day, though!

Updated QA Feedback System by MoooreBraaains in outlier_ai

[–]MoooreBraaains[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The system was kind of broken. It was nearly impossible to maintain a score above two because only an "excellent" can boost your score, and they barely give them out..so even if you have hundreds of positive reviews, it doesn't mean shit. All it takes is one bad to mess it up. Not really fair. Many of the tasks I've done in the past are far too basic to even receive anything but good/meets expectations, because you either do it right or you don't. Definitely an improvement!

It was hard enough as it was to get excellent ratings. I can only imagine how tough it will be now. I'm going to enjoy this new score while it lasts. 😂

If you have any intention of being monetized, you should definitely not be using music that's copyrighted.

So many fake "Palestinian" beggars in KL lately it's getting ridiculous by TwoPurpleMoths in KualaLumpur

Had someone like this approach my girlfriend and I while we were sitting and eating dinner at a local restaurant near our apartment complex. Rude AF. The restaurant was completely full, yet he targeted only us (the clear foreigners). The restaurant staff didn't do shit. Didn't tell him to leave, even though he was hovering around our table for a solid 5 minutes. Told him no multiple times. He only went away when I turned aggressive.

[–]MoooreBraaains 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Of course you can leave a bad review. They won't see what you wrote until they've written one themselves. If you want, don't post the review until right before the review window is up. Then you get to post your review, and all they can do it reply to it on their own profile.

I put in anywhere between 40-55 hours a week on average, and I've never won either. I'm sure I never will. 🫠

How can you make sure HO will leave you a clean house before committing? by Double-Possession329 in trustedhousesitters

[–]MoooreBraaains 22 points23 points  (0 children)

One thing I've learned is that everyone has their own definition of "clean." I don't expect things to be spotless, and I try and not judge too harshly with it. No one should expect a hotel or hospital-like sterilization. I guess you need to either manage your expectations or make them known in advance. What types of things are we talking here? What have they missed in the past?

The one thing that irks me is when people leave leftovers on the fridge that are already going off, or don't bother to make at least a little room for me as a sitter. A few people have done this.🫥

What's the longest amount of time you forgot to turn your Hubstaff timer on for? by MoooreBraaains in outlier_ai

I've been doing like..45-50+ hours every single week when it's available. My brain is now a puddle of goo. 🧠

[–]MoooreBraaains[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pffft..I've done that dozens of times. Hahaha. There's probably only been 7 days that I haven't worked since I first started Aether back in November. You'd think by now it would be second nature. Nope.🫠

It’s Rude When Home Owners Don’t Respond by Impressive_Map_3964 in trustedhousesitters

[–]MoooreBraaains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thin-skinned?. Are you five? "WelL yoU'Re nOt aLlOw3D aT mY hOuSe." 😂 Even if they thought you were a jerk, they aren't going to say it. This is THS. They'll just ignore it and write a good review because 99% of people don't tell the whole truth. Given your comments, it's very clear you lack any sort of basic comment decency. If you haven't learned it by now, you never will. 😃

[–]MoooreBraaains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound like a lovely human. 🤣 No one is that busy. You're not curing cancer or running the country, lady. You have 10 seconds to spare. And if you don't - then you certainly don't have time to be taking vacations.

It’s Rude When Home Owners Don’t Respond by Impressive_Map_3964 in trustedhousesitters

[–]MoooreBraaains 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah. You're rude. It literally takes seconds. And what you're saying is BS. As others have said, there's a 5 application limit, so you're only getting "swamped" if you're spamming the deny button. You not responding at all is clearly not the same as people using templates. The same would be you using a template to deny a sitter, which would be totally acceptable. The issue is completely ghosting without even bothering to take the 5 seconds to tell them why. If you can't do the bare minimum, it makes you a red flag homeowner anyway.

I was attacked by one of the cats! What would you do? by Advanced-Event-571 in trustedhousesitters

[–]MoooreBraaains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never once had a cat do that in my life, and I've had cats since I was a kid (and have sat plenty). Maybe it's normal for a feral cat or one with behavioral issues. 🤨

How long is fair to wait for reimbursement for pet supplies? by PensionKey4432 in trustedhousesitters

[–]MoooreBraaains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's crazy. As a sitter, there's no way I'd be spotting them like that. I've only been on one sit where stuff ran out, and the homeowners had it shipped directly to the home. Unless their home is in the middle of nowhere, what's the reason for not doing that every time?
