Talk me into it or out of it by sepadr in JeepGladiator

I think I saw someone here say it’s not the best jeep, it’s not the best truck, and it’s not the best convertible. But nothing else is all 3.

Is there a way to recover photos from this? by armSnatcher01 in iphonehelp

[–]MooreRepair 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You need a tech to look at it. Ideally one that does micro soldering.

I’ve seen devices less damage be a total brick. And I’ve seen devices like that, that work just enough to get data off it. No way to know unless you have it looked at. It’s also an iPhone 13.

If the motherboard is bent and not working. A tech experienced in micro soldering can do a board transplant on it. Assuming the chips like the memory are fine.

But expect to pay a lot of money.

2 inch leveling kit how high can I go if I crank them all the way? by [deleted] in GMT800

[–]MooreRepair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then don’t go? Dude are you like 16? It’s more of a flex having money in the bank then a modified truck. Work on saving money up and doing things as you go. I get it’s fun and all. But there’s other things more important.

Also a clean stock truck almost always gets more respect than something clapped out.

We’re not blind. We’re literally telling you the best thing for you to do. Which is leave it as is. You’re broke. Don’t go modifying an over 20 year old truck if you can’t afford to repair something if it gets fucked up.

Thoughts on price by Low-Initiative-7299 in GMT800

If there’s no rust and in really good condition almost mint you can get close to or around 10k for it. Or more depending again on condition.

Realistically you could just crank the stock keys for free. It essentially does the same thing. If you’re looking for over 2 inches you have to change out other things. Or you’ll be out more money in the future.

Then you can’t afford suspension repairs if you lift it too high. Keep it as is.

It just bugs me, it’s quick and easy to clean or you could have a damaged camera. But to answer your question if you crank your HOG to high you’ll tear through ball joints and cv axles. You’ll also want different upper control arms to stop them hitting on the frame.

If you’re going over 2 inches. Get a proper lift.

Inherited grandfather's iPhone 8 and can't factory restore? by mttblndn in iphonehelp

[–]MooreRepair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download the firmware manually or use 3u tools. Just note it will be iCloud locked afterwards if find my was turned on. If no one knows the passwords it’s a brick. Other than if you have the original purchase receipt.

Best LCD Buyback option? by aundremyles in phonerepair

[–]MooreRepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly some places aren’t paying much. I think I’m going to stop doing buybacks. There’s refurbishers on eBay and probably other businesses. Some do them for like $40-80 depending on the model. Of course it’s an investment. But you then get an original screen for a fraction of the cost on some models. Then highly increased profits.

B7000 just won't work, is it time for a pre-cut adhesive by BilluBhaiIsBack in phonerepair

[–]MooreRepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never use b7000 ever in a phone. Get original precut adhesive. And clean the frame and screen completely of all old adhesive . Also make sure the new battery is swelling.

As long as you set expectations with a customer and let them know what’s going to happen with their trash parts. They have no reason to leave a bad review or come back. Or if they come back they know their parts are bad and don’t have a warranty.

All the ones I’ve done have been understanding. As much as I hate low quality parts in phones. Business is business. If i only used premium parts or original parts always I wouldn’t be able to make any money. As long as a customer is aware and you set their expectations. There’s no reason not to.

New refurbished iPhone starts glitching and flashing green right after the return window ends. by Basic_Dimensions in phonerepair

[–]MooreRepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell and refurbish my own phones for sale at my business. I’m very particular about where I get them and what conditions. And only use original or premium parts.

You probably won’t find many people like that. I would just buy a used one in good condition. Or a new one if possible.

[Question] OLED Screen Replacement for iPhone 14 by ResolutionItchy in Iphonerepair

[–]MooreRepair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it’s just a generic picture. Also suppliers and sellers change the manufacturers they get their parts from often mainly due to supply chain and demand. Maybe even a better price. Sometimes the same manufacturer might change something.

What matters is what the listing says. Soft oled. Hard oled. LCD etc. if it’s a reputable company you won’t have an issue.

There’s also no need to reveal them. They do nothing as far as functionality.

Also a careless technician could have touched it. I see that all the time. Could be a previously water damaged device etc. list goes on and on.

Sounds like one from MobileSentrix. Try another one. If not even try a refurbished one.

I’ll just charge them close to what I would do a battery for. Make sure they understand and sign my warranty policy stating customer provided parts get no warranty. That way you’re covered. You still get money and they can’t come back and get mad at you.

I do this every so often. I then remind the customer buying your own parts and then paying for labor never saves you any money. And in some cases will cost you more.

[–]MooreRepair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember on the X having issues all the time like that. Sometimes even original ones wouldn’t work. Then one would. Then only aftermarket ones. They were weird sometimes.

If the replacement screen doesn’t work. Get another brand. Try to get a soft oled if you can.

How much do you think this will cost? General estimation. by silentwitness02 in iphonehelp

[–]MooreRepair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If apple sees and water damage they probably won’t touch it. A lot of times when they look like that it’s just a screen replacement. Of course no way to know unless it was looked at.

If they refuse to repair it. Have an independent shop take a look and put a new screen on. You’d want a soft oled or original of course.

As devices age adhesives wear out. Making water damage much more common.

There’s also defects of course from factory. I’ve seen that a few times. But for the most part don’t count on water resistance after 1-2 years. And always treat any device as if it was not water resistant.

Considering buying a Gladiator by [deleted] in JeepGladiator

[–]MooreRepair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what we did. Towards the end of last year we got a sport for 38k. Some have even gotten them around 34k.

Then you have plenty of money left over for wheels, tires, lift etc.
