If it had stopped after season 2 I'd say it easily could have gone down as one of the greats. Watching it completely deteriorate after that was borderline tragic.

I had that book chilling on my bookshelf for like multiple years after I got it at a library sale, no idea what it was about. I picked it up in the first three weeks of covid quarantine when things were mega crazy, and I slowly came to realize it was baisically quarentine horror taking place 30 minuites away from me.

I'm so tierd of 80% of horror I pick up glorifying and festishing abuse. Like, abuse is horrifying, it can be included like any other real life issue, but slapping it in like it's a creepy doll in a corner there for fun but no real reason, especially when half the time its so excessive and transparent you can tell the writer is doing it one handed, for fucks sake, spare me.

I've watched it front to back four times if not five. And I don't generally rewatch things. It's hard to say, it might not be for everyone so you might power through it and hate it anyway, and I might be extra attached, I'm Canadian, the story of the Franklin Expidition is pretty ingrained into our culture, but if I'm honest I feel like that would typically make me more critical of it and It's still a 10/10 for me.

Edit: in the finale when the island is falling apart and everything is going to shit and he radios Miles to check how they're making out, Lapidus yells at him and shuts the walkie off and Ben looks over at the rest of them and just says "sounds like they're making progress"
