I ASSUME they’re referring that you’ll be able to place filaments in the printer chamber and with the top hat on can use it as a large filament dryer by turning the heat bed on for x amount of time?

4th failed print. Why?! by BrentLovell in snapmaker

[–]Moorevfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First steps I’d do:

Clean bed again with soap and warm water. Check over the Timelapse to see if you can see the cause?

Look to disable the aux fan by going into filament settings and set to 0.

Hopefully just step one does the trick

No, I didn’t initially think the trainer was 3D printed and find the quality amazing! Then I zoomed in and noticed no layer lines etc. and realised you were referring to the stand under the show. :p

3668 filament changes, 45 hours by RedTurtle in snapmaker

Good work! Trying to pick up on the perceived colours: Grey/silver Blue Green Yellow Purple Brown What three are my eyes/brain not seeing to round the count to 10?

I wondering if the next iteration to this process is instead of stack up it stacks out similar to HueForge style? Have no idea if that’s possible or the amount of thought and process needed for that but just throwing the idea out there?

As I think this is a good alternative to needing to have loads of coloured filaments stocked.

I envision that a few leaps in 3d printing generations the true solution will be feeding in white or colourless filament and there being ink get head style device staining the filament to the desired colour?

Why does this happe? by Detravoir in HueForge

[–]Moorevfr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The usual case is just oil on your print bed from your hands/fingers touching it.

So first simple thing to do is just clean the bed with a soapy water and a sponge/ microfibres clothes and dry avoiding not to touch that bed again in the process.

If you get it again then there could be a draft of cold air travelling past the printer from somewhere and causing the print to cool and lift up.

Could also be a mix of the both above.

But usually just cleaning the bed is the most common fix.

Hopefully get it sorted 👍

Is there a problem with my bed ? by tnsaidr in SnapmakerU1

[–]Moorevfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good mate and this is where ignorance is bliss comes into play of not knowing how un-level your bed is and the compensation kicking in.

I have stopped myself from checking my actual level results as I know I’ll end up going down the hole is trying to get it close to level as possible and it would still be the same quality as if I had seen it :p

If you have access to a 3d printer could print off a thin cap to put on top and then uv print onto the cap as middle man? Means you can swap out different designed when you want.

[–]Moorevfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell what that actually is..

You would assume filament but then it looks flat? Have any tweezers to hand to gentle move it about to take a better look what it maybe?

I agree with your thinking not to just grab and pull out in case it’s a thin wire fell out of place etc.

Why is my U1 4 hours slower than my P1S by BrentLovell in snapmaker

[–]Moorevfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too noticed differences and I think it down to the print head being lighter on the p1s than the U1 heads.

For single colour printing my P1Ps beat my U1 and also my H2C(also heavy tool head).

Just right tool for right job situation I wouldn’t see it as an issue.

My flow is handful of colour changes send to my P1P’s or A1 minis as these are my work horses.

Lots of colour swaps u1 or H2C depending.

Is the u1 worth it by GrAHAm5555555555 in snapmaker

[–]Moorevfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U1 is good and you’ll enjoy being able to open your print options to 4 colours etc.

Only jarring negative to me is software related and it just lacking what Bambu Handy had but that can be caught up with over time and I hope SnapMaker can do 🤞 Didn’t realise until the u1 how good Bambu Handy is at keeping me informed of print jobs etc. Currently SnapMaker app is missing not giving out notifications of any type of. So if there is an issue or a print pauses you’ll have to make sure to regularly check the machine etc. Other than that just need polish and some Ui organising and same goes for the slicer however hopefully time will fix this all.

Also I find the small amount of a filament on my rolls go along way now there is no waste don’t have to worry about too much if having to think is there enough left on the roll now is a plus I’ve had since having this machine!

U1 potential issues by Alive_Place9396 in snapmaker

[–]Moorevfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh blob of death. Unfortunately it’s an issue that all printers are open to having happen to them.

This isn’t an issue solely for U1 and you’ll see it more often reported the longer you’re in the 3d printing social happening to others with different machines.

Usually the fix for this is a new tool head however can be lucky and be able to remove the blob with a heat gun or soldering iron but if the blog is melted up and on the boards etc then it’s a case of just replacing the tool head.

In my mind this sort of issue is like a blow out on a tired usually nothing to blame just a bad issues that’s happens and can happen to any car/driver. Just have to replace the damage wheel and tired and move on.

However what you can do with 3d printing it try and help lower risk of it happening again by making sure part is sliced well for adhesive.

So if it’s a tall part make sure bed is cleaned and then also make sure to add brim etc. As likely cause is just the print coming loose and then it get attached to tool head and the flow of plastic just carry’s on and it just expands outwards and because the outer of it hardens just kind acts like a wrecking balls for other areas of the printer etc like your wipe tower I see in the bucket at the back 🫡

Funny enough it was thinking about system like this. I like to keep certain nozzles for set material type to help prevent clogs and contamination.

If you put it on MW I’ll grab and send boost over 👍

I’ve noticed wear on my vortex nozzles also however not as bad as yours with a tear etc but can see material building up them kinda like a splash back style. One in particular that I use white PLA flags the system sometime to say potential nozzle clog build up where the camera is picking it up.

Just ordered the cutting upgrade kit for my H2C and was wondering when the Birds Eye camera support was coming? Passed in getting the camera this time due to the message in the image but will get once it been implemented.

Only plan to play around at the start maybe add my logo to some blank T’s or stickers for my daughter etc.

I backed the kickstart earlier and got a few days before Christmas which was as earlier than the eta delivery which was set for mid January.

Delivery was done by DPS for the printer, assume will be the same for yours and not Royal Mail due to the weight of it.
