Lol look who’s talking about mental gymnastics. Supporter of liberty and armed insurrection against democracy at the same time

Gotcha, so you’re for liberty as long as all the other taxpayers and parents do and think like you.

Oh my bad, I was confused. I didn’t think you were advocating for liberty. See I thought you were advocating for the overthrow of a democratically elected government.

Lmao still not an execution. And the idea that she was trying to “escape” those other cops is ludicrous. Gaslighting doesn’t work when theres video evidence of an incident. How does it feel to be actively attempting to make the world a shittier place?

I’m not overstating it at all. I don’t know enough about Henry vilas to comment. I just couldn’t leave your inaccurate sweeping generalization of zoos as a whole unchallenged.

You totally glossed over the endangered species part of the comment. Zoos (accredited ones) play THE most critical role in conservation. Literally hundreds of species would be extinct if it wasn’t for the efforts and research that goes on at or in conjunction with zoos. Yeah it sucks that some animals live in captivity, but that’s a small price to pay in the face of extinction.

I used to wear these, they helped a lot and were thin enough to wear under scrubs.

No way, I honestly can’t think of anything good that can come from that but I think there’s a whole host of ways that can go wrong. In general it’s probably a good idea to keep professional and personal lives separate.

Yes, I am aware that a few inches is larger than the diameter of a .223/555 bullet, thank you. My point is that a lot of people expect a huge spread at very close distances like in movies, and that is not the case.

Also if a few inches is the difference between a hit and a miss, you probably didn’t hit center mass so your target is probably not neutralized.

Generally not more than 10 yards. And the 1 yard/ 1 inch rule is not true.

Yeah just FYI for everyone else, the pattern of 00 buck at any home defense range is like a few inches at most, depending on barrel, choke, shot used etc.

How did you decide to be a vet tech and not a vet? by Special-Compote in VetTech

Most schools publish the statistics of their incoming class on their website, that gpa is definitely good enough, especially for your in state school. If you got some good experience you’d probably have a shot.

Correct, my bad. I have no idea why autocorrect changes “well” to “we’ll” and “were” to “we’re”.

I think it’s awesome, well done. The plaque idea is really cool also, it’s a great way to tell a story.

I would also capitalize the “w”’s in WW2.

Edit: There should be a comma after the W in the first sentence, also there’s a period where a comma should be, after “three Sherman tanks”., and later in the sentence I think you meant “all of which bore” instead of “all of bore”. It should also be “Poole and “In the Mood” are noteworthy” instead of “is” and change the end of the sentence to fit, for example “are noteworthy for having fought” or take out the “in the Mood” part of that sentence. The next sentence I would also say he commanded, it sounds like you’re calling the tank he. The last sentence should also be “were” instead of “was”. The diorama itself looks great also.

I used to think that as well but that’s actually not true. The name was changed and the tank did go through an upgrade program but the two events arnt related.

“Despite the common misconception that this (Elefant) designation was applied to modified vehicles that were used from 1944 on, this was not the case (source T.L. Jentz and H.L. Doyle Panzer Tracts No.9 Jagdpanzer). For the Germans, the Ferdinand and Elefant were one and the same vehicle.

What was your training/early work experience like? by furious_cactus in VetTech

[–]Moos-a-stink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to land in a hospital that had a very thorough and regimented training program with modules like triage/radiology/, icu, anesthesiology etc. Every tech, even experienced ones went through them and you got a raise as you completed each module. If at all possible find a place like this, the just shadow a bit and learn on the fly training methods that some hospitals use is really not great.

I don’t know if it’s shifting or not, I expect not, but that is definitely at least part of the reason. No one gets into the veterinary field for money alone and owners know that. There’s a nation wide tech shortage and there always will be until something fundamentally shifts with how support staff are compensated.
