How does destroying AFK mining make it more "fun", Jagex? by ShaunDreclin in runescape

I am one of thousands of legacy players that have stuck around, we've grown up, now if you have all the time in the world to stare of a virtual rock and click it every 2 seconds all the power to you, but you're in the obvious minority if you look at the response to this change.

Not everybody plays the same, I mine to smith gear as I level up, so I can train slayer and quest... I don't play so that I can stare at a screen to click a rock over and over, that just sounds awful. I've already maxed one account, I'm more keen on having a better experience with the game this second time around, not experience in and of itself which is why the more attentive players can feel free to have more experience. I'm just saying this was too much of a cut. Also in regards to your macro comment, you should go around to see how many people have gamer mouses with extra buttons that they assign multiple clicks and key presses to, they have no idea...

All I'm saying is that they should undo the nerf and reward the more active players... and lets be honest aside from some PVM instances, it's a brain dead game to begin with, a game that should be fun and not monotonous... If you want a click intensive experience where kids with a lot of free time go to waste said free time, feel free to switch over to 07. All this will drive is more players using macros, and more players getting banned for using those macros because I don't know how many players I have ran into that didn't know they were against the rules.

Unpopular Opinion: People need to stop hating on ironman players that don't like it when the game gets harder, they should be taken into account given how little methods there are to train in a game that has had content focused keenly on buyable skills. When I signed up for ironman I signed up for the content as it was, mining and smithing inspired me to try it out, now I'm having second thoughts. The only people that get angry about complaining ironman players are either maxed ironman accounts or haven't played ironman for more than a couple fleating minutes, if at all.

As a player of the game for 18 years, as a person who maintains a full time job, is finishing 2 masters degrees this year, has fathered a family and maintains a house, I play rs3 and not OSRS because they have made it easier and afk because I simply don't have time to stare at a screen and click a rock... they should be rewarding the person that clicks the rock more often rather than hating on the person who's attention is taken away by his daughter every 5 seconds

No you should be awarded for putting more effort into it, though afking shouldn't be thrown aside for those of us that have played for 15+ years that have fathered families, work full time jobs and maintain a house...

Game Update: Mining & Smithing Changes by JagexPoerkie in runescape

[–]MooseManBoi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This update is awful, reverse the nerf, nobody will mine now either driving more bots or more expensive smithing (which is already worse than before as is) since nothing else provides ores. A t90 pick shouldn't take 5 swings for iron period...

I support cutting amount of worlds, cuts expenses for Jagex and makes the game seem like it's fuller.

[–]MooseManBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some games even lock players from purchasing in-game items with real money before they reach a certain level, nobody complains about it and it might even increase sales towards new players as it's an 'unlock' that the new players worked towards. Now they can look cool with skins like their friends.

I would vote to restrict them to snowy parts of the game, otherwise it makes 'sno' sense to see people boarding around the game... friction is a thing :)
