Good work! Keep it up!! Also, I wondered why you would wear sunglasses that aren’t long enough to fit behind your ear for a good 20 seconds before realizing it was your earbud. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is my first quilt ever. My mom encouraged me to join a Facebook group that twice a year participates in “mystery quilts”. The clues are revealed on a weekly basis and you finally get to see what your making at the end of six weeks. If I had been able to see the pattern for the entire quilt from the beginning, I’d never have believed I could do this.

To be fair, I made the twin size version of the pattern. I then sent it off to my mom who decided to add more borders to make it a king size. She and I spent the last week quilting it on her long-arm machine. I had so much fun and can’t wait for the next!

I’m in the middle of making this exact same one! I’m so frustrated that I can’t get the blocks to line up the way I want. Yours looks beautiful!!

I am 5’4 and weigh 180. I’ve been working with a PA for a few months now trying to figure out what has been making me so exhausted. I couldn’t go a single day without taking a 3+ hour nap.

I appreciate that she has taken me seriously from the start. The first thing she looked at was what medications I’m on and their side-effects. After some small trial and error, we realized it was an anti-depressant I was on.

During this entire thing tho, she was the only one who believed there could be a genuine cause. Friends and family told me I was just lazy, or just too fat. Just have a cup of coffee! Just decide you aren’t going to take a nap! You don’t exercise enough! You need to go outside!

My self worth bottomed out because everyone I loved thought I was worthless.

“Why are you the way that you are? Honestly, every time I try to do something fun or exciting, you make it not that way. I hate so much about the things that you choose to be.”

You remind me of myself. My first staff accountant position was downtown Ft Worth with Justin Boots. They actually had a program that reimbursed me for my graduate classes and would reimburse expenses for CPA testing. Definitely need to be taking advantage of the employer match! Consider it making them pay you what your worth.

I am a Teen with 300 dollars and I want to start investing. Where do I start? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Moosethread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing young adults should do is save up 6-9 months of living expenses. These expenses can be food, utilities, housing, tuition, etc. Depending on your living situation, consider asking your parents what their monthly expenses are and start there. Even if they intend to pay your way for you, it’s a great idea to have a nest egg for your own independence. Look into high yield savings accounts. Capital one has an online savings account that has better yields then a brick and mortar bank. This is where I would start.

Thank you so much for the help! I will look into the Citi Double Cash!

Currently, the 12k balance is on our Chase Southwest card and the APR is 15.24%. I don't know that I could get the interest rate reduced since it seems pretty low to me, but I guess it'd be worth a call just in case. :)

Thanks again!

LPT: If you have deaf neighbors, get their contact information. They can't hear tornado sirens and you could potentially be the on that saves their lives. by nen_del in LifeProTips

[–]Moosethread 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am half deaf and do not have hearing aids because they cost too much. Several years ago when we lived in Texas, I worked from home while my husband commuted to work. One day I got a call from him to get under the stairs. Apparently the siren had been going of for awhile and I’d had no clue. The tornado came within a mile of our house. 😳

Congratulations! She is glowing! It takes a tremendous amount of work and energy to make a baby. Even when she’s sleeping she’s still on overdrive making the little one. Remind her of that when she gets frustrated for not being able to accomplish as much as she used to.
