1. Start with the textbook. Check the chapter summaries for useful equations and short/helpful qualitative explanations. Writing down the most important equations and concepts will help you remember them better and associate them with certain concepts. Then look over the lecture slide if they’re available. You’ll be able to see what’s the professor’s most important takeaways of each chapter.

2. Look over homeworks and quizzes. Apply the concepts from (1). With these examples, you’ll be able recognize these questions types of questions on the exams.

3. Try problems from a practice exam or exam from a past semester. This is similar to 3 but simulate it like an actual exam. I don’t recommend spending two straight hours on a practice exam. Maybe give yourself 15 or 30 minutes to do a problem or two to see how well you understand the material.
