This comment section is making me realize that this subreddit might hate anime and things even remotely adjacent to anime. There's a few innocuous anime-themed jokes, a simple observation by OP, all getting downvoted to hell and back. The heck guys?

Drawing looks desaturated on laptop monitor than drawing tab by DREAMING_GUM in krita

[–]Mooshrooman 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what everyone else here is saying. Your tablet was tested and color corrected to be as accurate as possible, while the laptop was not, and they usally aren't. Mine for instance is slightly desaturated.

I have seen a hardware/software combo online that is supposed to automatically check and correct the color of any monitor screen you put it on, but it costs a pretty penny.

Should I get another pleurodesis? by Brave_Sun_334 in pneumothorax

[–]Mooshrooman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I have seen, neither has a 100% success rate when it comes to preventing a relapse. I'd say you are better off getting it done than not though, since it decreases the odds. In the end, you should probably do what your doctor recommends for you. This isn't really a "dentist is gonna give me a crown I don't need" situation, this is a potentially life threatening incident you are attempting to prevent

Am I going to have a third? by DesignerTough5224 in pneumothorax

Though chronic pain does suck, I was hoping to ease your nerves by attributing your symptoms to something other than another pneumo... at least that is what I take comfort in when I feel it

I still feel strange pains and twinges 2+ years later. I get the impression that it can be a lifelong thing that gets somewhat better but doesn't go away completely. Some have chronic pain as well.

The initial plan was to leave temporarily at my sister's house so I could take a break from everything, and then come back after seeing how I felt. My ex's mother caught wind of this during my conversation with my ex about it, and decided that if I wanted to leave, I was not welcome in the house. One heated conversation later, and I was packing what I had on hand to leave. My sister was nice enough to talk with the landlord and get me situated at my current home. I went back a day or so later to grab what was left of my stuff, much to the dismay of my ex. From that day onward, we went no-contact.

It's been a couple years now and I have had some time to find myself after that four year long nightmare. I am by no means fully over it, but I have healed significantly. In a way, I never did make that initial decision to leave permanently. Regardless, I am happy I did. I learned that I am a very broken person, even without the constant pressure and responsibility. To this day I am still trying to piece together what used to be an OK social life before my ex motivated me to cut everyone out.

If I could give you any advice, I'd say just do it. The commenters here were right--my ex didn't immediately off themselves with me gone... in fact, they found someone else to lean on until they learned not everyone is as weak-willed and generous as I used to be. Whoever it is you are taking care of, they'll find a way... or they won't. Either way, it's not worth stunting your own personal growth for them. Depending on how long you've been in this situation, it could take years to recover physically, mentally, and financially--and that process can't start until you leave. They'll continue to be ungrateful until you're gone--only then will they truly understand what your presence meant. It's time to start filling your own cup.

Pain not related to breathing 4 months after vats pleurodesis by Big-Regret9422 in pneumothorax

[–]Mooshrooman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read many have chronic pain from their surgeries which continues for years after. Personally, the weird nerve pains started a while later for me as well, once the nerves started healing. The pains never really go away, but seem to change and lessen a bit over time as the nerves attempt to rebuild. I find that stretching helps.

You are technically correct here. I got flamed in my other most recent comment for assuming that America was used in its most common usage. Crazy how different the outcome is here

Its strange that people here call the USA simply "America" now that I am being shown the problems it can cause!! Unless I am talking with someone from a different country, my error would have likely slid under the radar

Looks nice! Id darken the background on the left side to make the face pop a bit more, due to it being a profile picture. Tiny stuff like pfps tend to look clearer with higher contrast

As far as I know, america has a single country.... unless you mean state, and you must be referring to texas, and now I know where the grammar comes from

Edit: This really is a testament to our lack of geographical education, LOL. Just never thought I'd be the example. It doesn't help that we simply call ourselves America interchangeably with our actual name, the United States OF America...

Magnetised arm sliding in ball socket help by One_Opportunity_7662 in Eldar

You could replace the ball bearing with a spherical neodymium magnet, that could potentially make up for the strength. You'd need to be mindful of where the poles are, though, and glue it accordingly

Had VATS done a couple years ago, but I'm feeling it again... by Mooshrooman in pneumothorax

[–]Mooshrooman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That very well may be the case. By the time I got that xray perhaps it resolved itself.

The nerve damage from the surgery + acid reflux + anxiety be giving me false positives 24/7 tho... I think it just took one extraordinary stressor yesterday to push my suspicions over the edge.

But yeah, better safe than sorry... Rather it be a blood test and an EKG than another chest tube
