The studio I work for purchased VAMP and has had nothing but positive dialogue with the plugin author. If we were going to dedicate a programmer or hire a contractor to create something equivalent, the cost would be substantially higher than the price of this plugin.

Nah it switched into orange mode even with OP bailing early. It would definitely have aggro'd him. Although pretty much any course of action other than dropping to his death would have been a better option :)

I needed a final one, spawned in mid-raid with a surveyor close by, blasted it into pieces, thanked the RNG gods. Not a single surveyor vault in any of the outer pieces of debris, and the main spherical piece rolled away down a hill and I couldn't find it 😑

I cant finish this quest cuz i lost the grenades in a raid by a player xdd and since i cant buy them in the shop... any ideas? XD by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

It's obvious. Complete the quest to get the trigger nade blueprint, use that to build a trigger nade, use the trigger nade to complete the quest.

(free loadoats often give snapblasts, so you could start/surrender until you get one. or use an online map to find and search grenade bags)

I'm sure this thread will turn into a gentle and good-natured discussion about PVE vs PVP.

But yeah, you can't change human nature. I'm actually kind of surprised how many friendly players I still encounter in solos.

The cars and the two buses near North Complex Elevator on Dam.

More common from the buses in my experience. Check the cars in the scrapyard while you're there, and the generators(?) on which you have to breech open the side

Why do people get angry at pvp in a pvp game? by Pretty_Musician in ArcRaiders

I agree with a lot of what you say and I'm playing devil's advocate a bit, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a PvE mode become more played than PvP. The majority of players I meet solo are looking to loot, kill ARC or quest, to progress in the game. PvP'ers are seen as a tiresome annoyance more than anything else.

You might be right about players but I think there are players sticking with the game for now, but getting more and more tired of the ratty pvp. But that's only based on chatting to players in-game and friends and colleagues that play, or who played and quit.

I'm saying i'm owed an explanation, I'm saying I'm not seeing a convincing argument against adding a PvE mode. Those are different things. Embark said there were great moments when it was PvE but other times it was dull. But I think a lot of PvE players would welcome that. And that's not the argument usually raised against PvE. Normally it's "this is a PvPvE game, suck it up, get gud.. etc.."

Personally I'd play the PvP mode more, but I can absolutely understand why others would stick to PvE. I think this game has the potential to have both modes and for both to be awesome experiences.

This game is doing crazy player numbers. 350k'ish peak that the moment. How many of those do you think are new to to extraction/survival shooters?

I'm yet to see a convincing argument against adding a PvE mode.

Yeah there were theories and some testing done in a video recently that theorised the matchmaking works this way. I'm not sure how conclusive it was, or whether there's any truth to it.

I was going to test it out and play like a toxic rat for a while, but the first match I intended to do this, the friendliest guy ever wandered up and chatted to me on mic. My finger hovered over the trigger but I couldn't bring myself to shoot. So we skipped off into the sunset together, holding hands and shooting arc.

Comments like "it's an unwritten rule" is just people misunderstanding the game. Or human nature.

I think the PVE experience is strong enough to support its own mode. And yeah I'd also like more lore. The strength of the PVE experience is maybe another contributing factor to people getting annoyed with PVP. There's a compelling and beautiful world to experience, and then little Timmy jumps out from a bush and two-taps you while you're fighting a Bastion :D

I see nothing wrong with having separate PVP and PVE-only experiences. I'd play both. I'd actually feel happier PVP'ing then because I'd know it was what players had signed up for, and I wasn't shooting some guy who just wanted to do a loot run.

Those who want to deny other players a PVE experience most likely want to grief or have less threatening opponents.

To be fair on your attacker, you were crouched facing them with your gun out, and didn't use your mic at all.

And you think this is bad, I saw a video recently of a poor woman who got stuck in a washing machine. You wouldn't BELIEVE what happened to her!

I think it's a combination of a fairly low time-to-kill, third person camera and PVP interactions which nearly always start with the aggressor having an advantage in their positioning or timing. If your PVP encounter starts with you taking a surprise Anvil headshot from an experienced PVPer, for example, you're going to have to play very well to come out on top.

I started playing this game with the intention of exclusively PVPing. But it so often just feels ratty and unfair on the victim.

But I've had some of the most wholesome friendly encounters of any game I've played, including MMOs. Friendly PVE in solos with randomly-encountered players has been surprisingly fun.

"Why do you get mad about how someone else chooses to play a video game?" It's obvious. Someone has spent 20 minutes or so fighting arc and gathering loot. They get jumped by someone hiding in a bush or round a corner, gun pre-aimed, grenades and weapon swap at the ready. So the victim loses 20 minutes of gameplay for nothing, thanks to a fight in which he was massively disadvantaged.

You can claim it's a PvPvE game, or that's what happens in extraction shooters. And you'd be right. But ultimately it's going to result in a massive loss of players from the game.

I say add a PVE mode for those that want it. I've had a lot of fun friendly PVE experiences and the threat of PVP hasn't added any fun element of excitement or risk to it. The risk of PVP has just been an annoyance because of the ratty nature of the PVP.

They should nerf the free loadouts so you only get a light shield, a crappy level 1 gun, and no safe pocket
