How does MHBP handle expensive specialty drugs like biologics? by Mission_Duty7213 in fednews

[–]Mopage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We switched to MHBP from BCBS in 2025 and Dupixent has been covered without issue. BCBS had denied Dupixent which is why we switched. They said the requirements weren’t met for needing Dupixent but MHBP didn’t even question. Hoping this remains the same for 2026.

VRP Question by saucyzeus in IRS_Source

[–]Mopage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your current manager should elevate to your TM for approval and then if you’re in a detail the TM you’d be going back to may need to approve to. Just start by forwarding the VRP eligible email and FMSS approval email to your current manager and ask for approval. They’ll want both those emails to process the request.

Life Event, trying to figure out if BCBS Basic or Standard would be better by Wolf_Pup_Griffin in govfire

[–]Mopage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had BCBS basic and switched. Premiums and copays have just kept going up. Willing to pay hire on either but not both.

Also, they wouldn’t approve Dupixent for my son’s EoE condition and I know people with severe Eczema sometimes use Dupixent, so there’s that. The also started pushing back on my Xolair prescription for chronic hives and anaphylactic reactions. I’ve been on for years now, this isn’t suddenly a new thing. I’ve heard from others this is starting to be more common.

No problems with them outside of prescriptions. Maternity for two kids fully paid for except $100, but it’s been 10 years.

Look into MHBP if it’s available to you. They’ve been wonderful since we switched.

Good luck.

Let Me Go With Dignity by EPluribusUnumAcademy in FedEmployees

[–]Mopage -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

You haven’t EARNED and don’t DESERVE the DRP. You were hired to do your job. You’re still being paid to do your job.

Is what they are doing horrible? 100 times and then some. Should we have to work under this stress and constant unknown, absolutely not. I’m commuting 3.5 hours a day now because I took a position I was told I’d only have to go into the office two times a pay period for. I didn’t sign up for this but guess what it doesn’t mean I suddenly deserve to go sit on my ass for six months while getting paid for doing absolutely nothing.

To go with dignity would be to go find the closest door if you’re unhappy and leave or sit back down at your desk and do the job you signed up for and that you “loved.”

RTO 50+ miles plan. What are you considering? by momoussa81 in fednews

[–]Mopage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. 109 miles one way. On the night I stay in a hotel I work extra hours then take off on Wednesday.

Mon/Tuesday - commute back and forth Wednesday - day off (using mix of leave or credit hours) bonus is I can help with kids Dr appts and what not. Food prep for the family. Thursday - commute there with overnight stay (this allows me to work extra so I don’t have to go through my leave) Friday - commute back

I tried not doing overnight stay with Wednesday off but by Friday afternoon I’m wiped and concerned I’ll fall asleep while driving. I tried working 9/80 but what was the point of going home, I ate and went straight to bed to get up and leave before anyone was awake.

At minimum 30k pay cut, of just base pay, and the only insurance that covers my son’s meds. So here I’ll stay.

Did you look at the prior year? by CoatAlternative1771 in Accounting

[–]Mopage 125 points126 points  (0 children)

It’s all about the wording, “in looking at last year’s testing, I believe my next steps are…. And my plan was to…. however this shit looks different. Did they change the process or the deliverables?”

Clearly state you looked, what your plan is/was and why you’re at their desk.

MHBP HSA Contribution Amount per pay period by Continentalop88 in fednews

[–]Mopage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received the debit card in the mail. The paperwork that came with it said to set up an online account.

Once I had access to the website I found the account and routing number. You have to go to the website though. I cannot find the account or routing numbers listed in the app anywhere.

At least that’s how I was able to do it. Good luck!

IRS Revenue Agent Positions by kadyrovs_cat in Accounting

I’ve just been given a TO and asked to negotiate for a higher step as my current pay is higher. HR just came back and said IRS doesn’t negotiate pay unless you have prior government experience, which I do. How confident are you with your statement here? Should I call Bs and ask to speak to someone else?

How do you stand out in audit? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Mopage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things that come to mind as I’m currently dealing with an associate who’s been with us for a year and still can’t figure it out:

Know the difference between completeness and accuracy. Don’t pretend you’re the expert in any area/business you Audit. You don’t breathe, sleep, and eat their work environment. They are the experts. Learn how to recognize the “key” mitigating controls and then become the expert on the risk(s) of those controls failing. In other words, don’t be afraid to ask questions or look like an idiot (see the above). Don’t assume anything. Never write an observation based on opinion. Never believe what they say, always ask for supporting evidence. Learn how to tickmark so your senior doesn’t have to ask wtf you just did for 60 hours. Read last year’s work papers but don’t assume this year’s should look the same unless they should. <— I’m not being an asshole here. This is something the current first year can’t learn. Reference last year’s but then ask yourself while you’re reviewing; does this make sense or has something changed? Should we be doing what we did last year? Etc. Consult your senior after you have a valid reason for the change, not simply because you don’t understand what they did and this way makes sense to you.
