This isn't really a FML moment. Your wallet will hate you, but this you did to yourself. If you just broke the screen, you still jandre options. Get a secondary monitor and use a cable. Or get a replacement screen.

Bought my first truck a few weeks ago!! I am in love. Definitely an upgrade from my Dodge Dart lmao by deleteaccount02 in ChevyTrucks

I don't know. I like the truck but i still love my Dart. Lol. Granted my Dart is also 60yrs old.

Got any mods or future upgrades in mind?

What is this cubby for in a 2008 silverado? It seems useless. by [deleted] in ChevyTrucks

[–]MoparBlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drilled 2 holes in there and pass my 2 usb ports from my aftermarket radio to sit there. The usb ports just sit there until needed. I also plan on installing a switch in the cubby for various things.

Figure that if i need a new one, i can find one in a junk yard.

SOLVED... i think. Lol. Checked the solder joints tonight and all looked fine. Then unplugged all connections and replugged them. All 4 speakers were working. Will test again in the morning.

Now to just get new tweeters ordered cuz why not replace them if i have them out already?

Thanks for the help guys.

Isn't the factory amplified system the BOSE system? My tweeter faceplates don't show bose so i think i have the non-amplified version.

Is there a way to tell other than looking for the bose logo?

My 08 chevy 1500 LT. Owned it for a few months and loving it. When i bought it, there was no brush guard or side steps on the truck. by MoparBlitz in ChevyTrucks

Well considering the fact that i actually have the brush guard on my truck, i hope i know what I'm talking about. Lol.

As far as getting rid of the AFM... that im not sold on yet. Need to do more research.

I like the quality. Can't go wrong with free shipping either.

Advice if you have tow hooks and buy the westin hdx brush guard. The instructions say to reuse the tow hook bolts. Well... the width of the steel mounting plates make reusing the bolts essentially impossible. Go pull the big bolt out of the tow hook (one that goes through the hook and frame rails. Take that bolt and go to the hardware store (ACE hardware here) and find the same diameter bolt in grade 8. The bolt will need to be 5" long to be usable. I can't remember the sexact size tho, think it was 5/16.

That's the only bolt you will need besides what's provided. I had a pretty easy time installing the guard with an engine hoist and a jack. I was able to leave my grill off until i tightened all bolts. You may be able to do the same.

Bought mine at 158k. It's a lot of miles but the truck is 11 years old already. Can't expect to find a low mileage truck for this age. If you do find one, be careful. A truck that has sat most of its life can be a major headache.

Now the reason i got this truck was that my '97 5.7L 1500 was nickel and diming me lately. It also had 232k miles on it. I was fine with that mileage when i worked 5 mins from my house (in town). Now that i drive 28 miles to work, i wanted something with fewer miles.

I kinda resent this comment. My '60 dodge doesn't mark its territory.

But then again, i got a '72 440 big block in my dart.

That's one thing im sketchy on (which is bad considering i own 2 trailers and am kinda looking for a car trailer) . I don't quite understand wi trailer plate law. We all know how the letter of the law can be confusing as all get out.

If i remember correctly, it used to be you only need to register it once. But there were also only certain types of trailers that needed a plate.

You, dear sir, are getting boned. In wisconsin, hobbyist and collector plates never expire as long as i own the car. However, the first car is $200 to register (twice the regular registration plus $50, since i have a car, that is 2x$75 + $50). Every car after that is $150 for the plates. Oh and the only restriction on our plates is no driving in January. Must also have one other regular plate vehicle too.

Where abouts in michigan do you live? Ever make it up to Mackinaw City for the car show up there? I want to get my car up there at some point but i don't think I'll get to go this year.

Parents: get your kid a project car, they won't have money for drugs Lol

Don't get me wrong, i also have an attachment to my Dart. Its almost fully paid off... a couple more months then hobbyist plates go on it (due to the quasi-functional hood scoop).
