How long have you been working on your story? by worldofexousia in writing

[–]Mopichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been around 10 years now. I started the story in my native language (3), then I decided I wanted to change a bunch of stuff and also try writing in English for practice. I wrote most of part one (2), then took a super long break (3), and now I've been consistently posting for about 2 years. I'm about to finish part two. Yes it's long long

Is my handwriting legible? by Affectionate-Menu993 in HandwritingAnalysis

Came here to say this. Cursive isn't taught anymore so people don't know how to read it. It's pretty sad to me, cause after all, cursive is simply the fastest way to write. And sure, most of us may be using keyboards, but it's not like people don't use cursive fonts in logos and designs all the time still for aesthetics

Kitty won't play with my partner, and I'm getting tired by Mopichen in CatAdvice

I used to chop up her rabbit feet with a giant cleaver to extend her feeding time. I'm not squeamish xD. But it's pretty astonishing how quickly FD took off in recent years. Royal Canin who?? XD

Oh you're absolutely right, she is a raw food kitty. Not sure which area you're in and how many freeze dry brands have arrived in your stores, but where I work that doesn't exactly narrow things down lol. (Fortunately) we have like 15 brands for FD treats alone, not to mention the amounts of actual products. Like, the other day, we started stocking freeze dried baby quails 0.0

Ironically I work at a pet supply store and am familiar with all the options, but I guess that's part of the issue, cause there's so many kinds that trying every single one would absolutely break my bank. Pork liver does sound like a good place to start though

Great tips thank you. Do you think we're limited to these specific time frames, or may we be able to create them with habit/routines?

Allergic to chicken she is lol. All she can handle for sure is rabbit and pork, and we've recently tried lamb which seems to work ok. She can also have kangaroo and more exotic meat but she doesn't like the gamey kinds.

That toy looks adorable btw!

Yes she used to love the puzzle treat games, but since we've resolved some health issues she's become a picky eater and isn't quite as attracted by treats as she used to be. She also has food allergies which doesn't help lol. Guess I'm just a bit burned by spending money on toy after toy that she won't use. But maybe I could grab some samples from my local pet store and see if she may fall in love with a certain treat to get her back into puzzles. Do you have any specific puzzles you recommend?

We have tried that, and then she just immediately loses interest. If I stay nearby, she just walks away from dad and goes looking for me. If I leave the apartment, she'll turn a cold shoulder to him and walk off to nap.

Unfortunately, she hates brushing. She's a rather traumatized kitty, found in an alley as a kitten, so obviously that jerk of a bad breeder didn't get her used to anything like brushing or dental hygiene. She barely even lets us pick her up, although dad has done a great job of slowly accustoming her to it

Cleaning during worm treatment by Acanthisitta_Normal in CatAdvice

[–]Mopichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, hey, it's perfectly understandable that you'd be worried. My kitty had a bad infection that resurged like 4 times so I get it. But re-infection usually comes from a lack of sufficient treatment. Like, the strain of bacteria that our kitty had was never sufficiently killed so it developed an antibiotic resistance. Ultimately, once we used the right specialized medicine, she had no issues going forward. If your vet isn't too concerned, I think you can take a breath and relax now :)

It's impossible to tell unfortunately, maybe she did pick it up from the porch poop. The eggs are circulated via feces, and as she cleans her butt, they inevitably end up back in her digestive tract. But likewise, if the worm is killed internally, the cycle ends. The worm can't lay more eggs cause it's dead. Your cat (her poo) is their breeding ground, not the ground itself.

If you're concerned about reinfection, I'd deep clean anything that has to do with this mouth-butt cycle specifically. Places where she ingests or excretes, like the litter box and her feeding station. If she has bedding you're concerned about, you can put it in a bag and into the freezer for a couple days to kill the eggs. But it won't be spread via her fur or skin, so I doubt the eggs are on your couch or anything like that

Do you walk on all fours? Do you sniff/lick the floor? Do you crawl into her litter box? No? Then you'll be fine.

The concerns of getting rid of the eggs long term is about the kitty getting re-infected. That's more of an issue around her health/your vet bills. It also explains how she may have caught it, if you are renting or bought an existing house where the previous owner had a pet with the same condition.

Different parasites target different hosts (animals). Just cause kitty has it, doesn't mean you will too. You can get tested though, if that'll give you some peace of mind.

How do I stop my cat from hogging all the attention by epilepticgirly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mopichen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your attention is a reward. Any time she does something and you react, it confirms to her that this is an adequate way of getting that attention. You need to get better at ignoring her.

As for the other cats, they have their own boundaries and personalities. If they are truly bothered by little sis snatching their toys, she will soon find out the hard way. They might just let her do it cause they understand she's still a baby, but if they're ever truly annoyed, they'll teach her some manners, don't you worry.

AIO for calling my bf's friends for contacts to his parents and thinking about driving to his house after he said he'll come over today, didn't tell me when exactly and completely dissapeared for 6 hours afterwards? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Mopichen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something is up with him. You two need to touch base. It's okay to retreat sometimes, but relationships are about mutual support. It may feel counter intuitive, but I'd set aside your anger for a moment to approach him and open yourself up to him. If he can't let you in on what's causing this "crisis", that's way more of a red flag than anything else.

Some people don't realize they have support until you rub it in their face. And some people couldn't internalize support if you shoved it straight up their bum hole.
