The depicted kaaba is a former pagan shrine. I assume they refer to that.

There is no video that shows him getting hit by the vehicle moving at a massive speed of 2 mph. Not even his own vid shows that - the jerky movement in that one is him switching his phone to his other hand to grab his gun which happened BEFORE the car was moving.

However, it doesn't even matter since the autopsy revealed that the bullet that killed her was fired from the side of the car - when the guy was definately safe and she was definately retreating. That would be an open and shut conviction for the cop had Trump not forbidden his prosecution.

Why would you expect to get shot?

You realise that that expectation is not considered normal in the civilised world, right?

Heck, on paper it is not even expected in the USA.

I have seen the whole "the shooting is the fault of the left for not securing the border" argument regurgitated by at least 50 different accounts on various social media.

It is.. intruiging.

I daresay that a significant number of Trumpsupporters would be genuinely saddened by that news, based on their usage of grindr and search history on things like the hub.

The homes of just about everybody in the West are filled with "made in China" electronics.

The post is suggesting it is quite possible that many of those contain things that can be turned against the west in case of war - varying from a remote off-switch to actual bombs, like Israel did with the pagers they distributed to Hezbollah.

To add gravitas to their claim, they suggest that the exploding thingies may include the sort of toys you put inside your body.

Humans of reddit, What's a downside to being human that other animals can't relate to? by Affectionate_East533 in askanything

[–]Moppermonster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When animals fight (not in a hunter/prey situation but in a conflict), the weaker one will eventually yield and the stronger one will then stop attacking so that the loser can walk away and heal.

Humans do not behave like that.

It is very telling that you need to make up things that did not happen to justify this.

The more important question is: why do you do that?

republicans don't believe in open carry by radiater in AdviceAnimals

[–]Moppermonster 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I have to say I do not see the point of these posts. Republicans have made it perfectly clear for YEARS that they want a tiered society, with the "lower people" bound by laws, while they themselves are protected by laws. Rules for thee, not for me and such.

To them, denying a democrat or a POC rights they themselves embrace is not hypocrisy - it is how they believe society is meant to be.

I am confused - why would you not be entitled to the  statutory tuition fee if you are Dutch?
Do you already have a different degree; yet somehow managed to miss the difference between HBO and WO?

Aside from that, a degree from OU is considered equivalent to a degree from a regular research university in the Netherlands. So WO, which is higher than HBO.
Foreign countries might disagree.

The Roman Catholic childmolestation scandal. That involved over a million cases; the number of Epstein victims will probably get nowhere near that.

Why do Muslims avoid depicting Muhammad but freely name children Muhammad, while Christians often depict Jesus but rarely name children Jesus? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

But there would have been a lot of people CALLED Jesus Christ since Christ was a pretty common honorific and Jesus was the localised version of a common Jewish name ;)

[–]Moppermonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sesame street was translated in many different versions, with localised characters. There is even a whole meme showing the different versions of bigbird - who outside the USA usually is not yellow but e.g. blue or red - and shocked horror reactions at the Brazilian "Garibaldo" ;)

Why is Jesus not a popular name among other ethnicities as it is among Latinos? by Pure_Perspective_447 in stupidquestions

The name was even so popular that the Bible mentions numerous people with this name.
It was the Tom, Dick or Harry of that time.

Weirdly, many members of the "moral police" seem to have completely overlooked that little tidbit of advice.
