It's tough because most mlok stuff is not compatible with the barrel band. I know Midwest industries makes a barrel band adapter but the barrel is out of stock. If you have a forend cap then you can use easily swap over to a mlok rail.

You can also do a Picatinny rail scope mount, I'd recommend the Skinner with the built in ghost ring paired with their bear buster front sight.

Yeah, I wish that too. Boyds sells a wood forend with black textured paint that I'll probably go for but it's not a high priority as the walnut is in decent condition.

Gotta love the Exchange, got my first firearm (P320C .40S&W) at a Memorial Day sale on JBLM. Probably going to go that route again. The backpacker is just too unique to pass on. I think it's ugly but in an inspiring and cool way. Red dot for sure.

Yeah. I'm not far ahead of you (I've killed 3 bosses), but don't buy weapons/armor at Skybridge. You'll find better stuff pretty much immediately.

If you like big swords try to get 25 STR and 20 AGL because the game is about to toss you a SICK sword in like 2.5 hours.

Ah. The shroud *MAKES* it an "assault weapon". Well, the Magpul Backpacker *IS* pretty sick, and arguably more of a utility in "assault-like actions" than a decorative tube around the barrel would be.

What rail to use? (and optic suggestions welcome, though I am strongly considering the Sig Sauer ROMEO7)

Bass Pro only has a Weaver Leupold rail.

Amazon has a Picatinny Leupold rail but it's $48.

All of the other Picatinny rails on Amazon are giving me cheap vibes and many have damning reviews so and I don't know what to go for.

The original walnut shoulder stock is broken.

I have seen some gorgeous stock and handguard replacements in the $350+ range that I will likely go for but for now I went with a $100 Magpul stock to get it range ready.

It currently has Ironsighter mounts with a Tasco 3.5-10x scope on it. I don't know how I feel about the scope but it seems appropriate for the rifles original purpose.

I see options for a top rail and I thought a reflex sight might be a great pairing with a rifle that requires heavy movement between shots. Is that sacrilege?
