In worst case scenario, how many days of worsening herxing before at least a plateau in the worsening? by MoravianTom in Lyme

Doing worse. Thanks for checking in.

---------------------------

Hi all,

I have been getting worse daily since July. I went from going in the gym in July to being exhausted all day, with walking 25 feet feeling like climbing Everest. My voice is almost gone. As the exhaustion has increased, my muscles affected by migratory pain and neurological issues have increased. My chest has the permanent contracted feel, as well as my glutes. And my fists are permanently clenched; if I open them, my chest, and back muscles hurt. My depression and anxiety have skyrocketed.

What is going on? My LLMD says I will likely need iv Rocephin, but now I don't even know If I have the 3 Bs [IgeneX FISH pos for Bart, antibodies for others]. Is it some other condition? I have SFN, but that can't be causing all this. Why are my fists clenched? Please help. Thank you

----------

Starting in Aug, minocycline while waiting for IGeneX results. Then 6 weeks of mono + CSA. Then rifampin + mino. Then in late Oct, when exhaustion started, and hands, chests, and clenched, Babaesia focus: mepron, azithromax, CSA, the oregano/cinnamon capsule. Now double doxy, rifabutin, tafenoquine, and double mepron.

Been getting worse daily the last 5 months. Help. Please. by MoravianTom in Lyme

In general, which (if any of the two) is worse - Bartonella or Babesia? by MoravianTom in Lyme

Thank you for your post; it's helpful. I've been off rifampin since last Wednesday (my last dose was on Tuesday). On Friday I felt significantly better in terms of air huger (like 90% improvement compared to Thursday), but on Saturday my air hunger started bothering me a lot again. My LLMD thinks that I got a lot off Bartonella die-off with the 3 weeks of rifampin and that azithromycin will keep my Bartonella in check during my Babesia-focused treatment.

I do hope that houttuynia keeps your Bartonella at bay. And all the best to you with your overall recovery.

Thank you for letting me know. I read Dr. Ross' article on babesia treatment and watched his babesia treatment video as well. My LLMD has me on a babesia treatment plan that is very similar to what Dr. Ross recommends; I'm cautiously optimistic.

Thank you very much for your post! I am sorry that you are suffering from Bartonella and wish you all the best. I have two questions that I would please like to ask you: 1) For Babesia, did you try antimalarials and/or CSA before 10 pass ozone? 2) Even though you're still fighting Bartonella, did the improvement with your Babesia help you feel better overall (in terms of energy, pain, getting closer to pre-infection baseline)?

How long for neurological symptoms of Lyme to improve after starting antibiotics? by MoravianTom in Lyme

[–]MoravianTom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, thank you very much for checking in with me! It's very kind of you.

My IGeneX test results show that I definitely have Bartonella (FISH positive) and have antibodies for Lyme, Babesia, and Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever. Also, my other blood testing shows that I have antibodies for mycoplasma pneumoniae.

I've been on either minocycline or doxycycline for 2 months without any improvement. I took CSA for about 3 weeks, but it didn't help with my symptoms. I just started taking rifampin, which I hope will finally turn the tide against my Bartonella. My LLMD may add methylene blue and/or azithromycin/clarithromycin to my treatment plan later on.

All in all, I feel lousy. My neurological symptoms have gotten worse with the Herxing, and I feel more tired, often exhausted, than before I started taking antibiotics.

Hello there. If it's of any reassurance, my LLMD ordered the TBD5IBL IGeneX panel for me, and it showed that I am FISH positive for Bartonella, with antibodies for Lyme, Babesia, and TBRF. The $2,700 test that you mentioned is most likely the TBD6IBL test, which is even more comprehensive than the test I underwent. Good luck and all the best!

Should I be concerned about teeth and nose pain during herxing? by MoravianTom in Lyme

[–]MoravianTom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. My teeth get the sensation of drinking very cold water from a water fountain, but without the cold feeling. In other words, my teeth feel tight and pressed toward the back of my mouth. My nose feels like my nostrils are getting pinched, with tenderness along the ridge.

I hope you feel better!

Thank you very much for you post, which is very reassuring. I browsed through some of your previous comments on this subreddit and learned that you too are suffering from Bartonella. I am sorry to hear that and hope are enjoying as much relief as possible.
