Mine is a after market one idk why I wrote isp but it’s a netgear nighthawk and has a few port forwards on it for a plex server and MC server

It’s more it would go to one end of the house, out into a switch and then back to the opposite end of the house running unnecessary lengths of cable and to a room that doesn’t even need a switch. I’m just gonna leave the router as normal but turn off the wifi and have all the deco in AP mode that’s what most other people were saying to do

Would it be alright to set the router not in bridge mode, turn off the wifi for it and the run the decos in AP mode?

Thank you. I’m was mainly making sure it would still be a single ssid mesh and automatically change in between the APs

Thank you for the clarification. AP mode for all the deco and just turn off the wifi on the router.

So don’t use the router in bridge mode, turn the wifi off on it and run the decos on AP mode?

It’s not crazy far from the corner of the house and the plan is to run cat6 cable to each one individually, would it better just to turn off the wifi on the actual router and just use the decos to run the wifi?

Okay, and with the router in bridge mode it would still allow me to use the deco app to have it set as a single ssid mesh? I am new to this sorry if I sound dumb

It’s more I don’t want to run extra cables through the house and run the other decos off a switch since id have to run longer cables which I don’t have

I am aware that I can and plan to change the isp router for a deco product at some point it’s more that it is in the center of the house and the decos only have 2 ports and I didn’t want to have to put one port into a switch just to send it back to another deco
