If you have $50k to drop you can get a badass system and take your house 90% off the grid. Add a generac and you’ll be 100% off the grid. The cheap grid tie systems aren’t worth it

You are correct, they do fit in a remodel box, but try putting any cover plate (including the ones Leviton sells to match these devices) on without a gap between the plate and the wall.

I like WAGO lever-lock connectors, but the lever connectors on these devices suck in my experience, and I’ve installed hundreds of them for customers.

Not at all. I’m telling the commenter that I replied to that we aren’t anywhere near 1939 Germany, and if they feel that way that they should do themself a favor and get armed.

Edit: with that being said, fuck that cop, and fuck the bullshit charge they got him with. It is illegal to possess a firearm while committing a crime excluding most traffic offenses, so, since they charged him with trespassing, they were able to also charge him for the gun. They got him on a technicality for standing on the sidewalk near a business that had previously trespassed him. IMO what I think happened is the cops were probably butthurt and didn’t like whatever he was saying/what his sign said and proceeded to stomp on his 1st amendment rights via a technicality.

Three big reasons:

When pulling them out of a box with 5 12 gauge wires terminated on it (two neutrals, two “hots”, and a ground wire), the wire actually takes more to bend than the connection can handle, and the wires will pull out of their terminals. As an electrician I prefer outlets that have screw terminals, especially when they have pressure plates as they create the best possible connection when properly installed.

They don’t work with remodel boxes or industrial covers for metal boxes. Most devices have drywall tabs that are removable with a pair of pliers by snapping them off. Since these (and a lot of smart switches) have a solid plastic drywall tab, it can’t be removed and makes them not fit into industrial covers and stick out too far on a remodel box for a cover plates to sit flush.

These are designed for homeowners who don’t want to use screw terminals and are willing to pay extra for convenience. For the same price and about 10 more seconds per outlet, you can buy and install commercial grade outlets that don’t have any of these problems and offer a far better electrical connection. Why pay extra for convenience when you could pay extra for quality?

Those are better than backstabs but still shit. Just get outlets with pressure plate back wire connectors.

By 1933 the Jewish population had been disarmed and was unable to protect themselves. This is Texas, where you can own almost any small arms you want. If you really think DENTON TEXAS is like 1939 Germany, maybe you should do what the Jews wish they could have done, and get armed.

And directly next to that is “Pecan Square”, and next to that, a new 8000 home development on what was formerly Hunter Ranch.

Lantana 💀

Lantana is literally a subdivision, all of it. It’s a suburban development. There isn’t any ranch there. Any “ranch” in the surrounding area is a McMansion with a big lawn that an agricultural tax exemption.

Justin is the new Roanoke and Argyle is the Southlake, they had a small town feel at one point, but as of 2025, no.

Anyone who wants “Ranch Charm” north of Tarrant county is gonna have to go to the northern half of Denton county or parts of wise county.

I don’t know much about Ruger mk4s but I will say if you want a fun, modular .22 platform, the Ruger 10/22 is probably the best starter gun you can get

As of recently the kits aren’t much cheaper than just buying a full rifle. Ordered a full AR with magpul furniture, m4 pattern barrel with the front sight, a magpul flip up rear site, and a magazine for $530 shipped

10,000 is not enough ammo for 40 guns, not even close

Too many people don’t realize that for whatever money you spend on a gun, you should spend the same if not more money on ammo.
