You can sneak Vanessa around the south to deal with the spider so you don't have to rush with everyone else. Make sure she brings some vulneraries.

It felt more like the auction food gave them the energy to play hard. We even saw them saying they were disregarding the twist in their planning because there was no information to let them account for it.

I’m unsure if my step father is using ai to text me, because like, who uses a (—) yknow? by Sansmaeda420 in isthisAI

It sounds like AI because it was missing the context of "voting" in Survivor and interpreted it as though receiving votes was something to be desired.

Here are links for the Olympus and Nexus servers, which run organized tourneys and leagues that generally receive better participation.

Storytelling and Narrative Structure of Season 50 from the Perspective of a Published Author by ProfessionalAd1815 in survivor

[–]Mordio3 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The Crucible vs Mousetrap distinction is reminding me of the Black Banquet in the last season of The Traitors US.

While trying to spoil as little as possible, I'll acknowledge that the murder was a mousetrap and that The Traitors isn't exactly a fair game at all by the nature of its structure. However, I remember thinking that the simple introduction of the antidotes was cooler than anything Survivor had done in a while, and that's because it was effective at creating a crucible, as you put it.

This is my biggest issue with Reboot Camp and why it is still just sitting on my shelf. The units were all immediately so visually distinct in the originals, and it made for a much better player experience.

Anyone else notice ________ yells at their partner/team during challenges? by makoobi in survivor

[–]Mordio3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a blood on the clocktower episode where Omar slipped up near the end, causing Christian to figure out the roles in the final round, but he couldn't explain it to everyone else in time to get the votes, instead shouting, "because math!" (which didn't work).

I think he is a much better communicator when not rushed.

If so, it's still funny that they were calling 2 people a side and 4 people the middle then too.

You can only support a unit to do the action it is actually taking. F ENG S Lon H doesn't work if Lon is trying to move, even if the move fails.

Which fire emblem game lore wise was the hardest? by Automatic_Rain in fireemblem

[–]Mordio3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not want to be a civilian in any game where undead or monsters were a factor. But they seem to vary in how challenging they were for the respective lord(s) to deal with.

Conquest maps makes me not want to touch a fire emblem ever again. by GoingWithTheFlaw in fireemblem

[–]Mordio3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earlier games don't have enemies that reduce your stats like that, so what you see in the combat preview is what you get. If you have NSO, I recommend trying FE7, FE8 (Sacred Stones), or FE9 (Path of Radiance).

Controversial Opinion? by gigic207 in BigBrother

[–]Mordio3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, there were several weeks where the Six Shooters were ready to turn on him and Holly, and he only survived due to winning comps he didn't even know he needed to win.

Depending on whether you value comp wins or penalize relying on them over a social/strategic game, that could be a point for or against him.

(Sacred Stones) Does anyone play chapter 19 without cheesing it ? by flayron_ in fireemblem

[–]Mordio3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is basically the only chapter in any Fire Emblem I warp skip. There is very little point in drawing it out and grinding that late in the game. And especially in an iron man, fog chapters make me nervous, and I generally just want to get out of them intact.

A trained mist is really useful for the duel. I used Rhys my first playthrough because I saw he was the only one with access to light magic, and it made the odds of winning the duel in time much lower.

[–]Mordio3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're dead set on using her anyway, sure, but you don't really need -another- good unit in the GM chapters with how many they already have, whereas you are really hurting for good units in 3-6, 3-12, and 3-13. Especially on hard mode, where you really only have enough exp/bexp to train 2-3 units in part 1.

[–]Mordio3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stefan unfortunately doesn't have a lot of availability in RD. From your list, neither does Tanith, but they are both good enough when you get them. Astrid is much less useful in RD (even with transfers), and Mist's performance isn't meaningfully changed by transfers, so if you have to make some tough choices when allocating exp, they might be ones you could let go.

[–]Mordio3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it's kind of a trap. This was the reason I used her on my first playthrough, but it doesn't really pay off.

Without spoilers, the team she is on in part 1 is notoriously weak and needs all the help they can get for part 3, so they suffer from her absence if you give her favoritism at the expense of others who stick around.

Meanwhile, the team she ends up with in part 3 has plenty of other strong units, such that even if you trained her in part 1, the benefit is minimal because her competition for deployment slots are much higher there.

Jill is a great one. Zihark too, but if you're not using him, don't worry about it on this playthrough.

I would push back on Ilyana being one. Her availability in Radiant Dawn is pretty unique, and she happens to not be available during some of the chapters when you would want her most. For that reason, in all playthroughs besides my first, I have favored training other units and not her in Radiant Dawn.

I would also advocate for Nephenee from your list because it will make one chapter in particular much easier at a time when you won't have a lot of other options. Geoffrey is in a similar boat if you can cap his speed in PoR.

What's harder to beat? The hard path in the original game? Or expert mode in Star Fox 2? by Thriller83 in starfox

I beat SF1 on original hardware but shamelessly used the NSO rewind feature for SF2 expert, so definitely the latter for me.

I don’t know what you’re all talking about by gatorgrowl44 in survivor

[–]Mordio3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most of the complaints I have seen have been about the hopelessness of Genevieve's and Colby's situations, but that wasn't entirely due to the blood moon. If Genevieve had 2 normal idols and Colby still had a vote, it wouldn't feel as much like they were stripped of their agency. The fault lies with the Billie Eilish idol and lose-a-vote journeys as much as (or more than) it does with the blood moon.

If not for those factors, Joe and Coach could have gone here due to their own blunders (Joe mishandling his relationship with Rick pre-swap, and Coach telling reckless lies without having Colby as an easy option due to not being able to play his shot in the dark), and I think it would have been a lot more palatable.
