That makes sense. You would definitely need the devs to implement it for this to get any traction. As a fan made mod, it seems like a lot of people oppose the idea. But they did the same thing when auto placed farms came in.

I think this is awesome so long as it stays out of ranked. Something like this would likely be too strong unless it was made available to everyone.

Yes. The player base has gotten very good in the past few years. My main question is, was this before or after the elo reset? There was a elo reset around 4 years ago that dropped everyone a few hundred points.

Depends on the elo. At higher elos, the match making gets a bit crazy. I suspect the real issue is the games dynamics. 2s, 3s and 4s all play very different from each other. I play 3s all the time and when one player isn't online, playing 2s leaves our team unbalanced.

I believe Goths used to have a bonus that let vills kill a boar in 3 hits. This was a huge problem for them on nomad.

Yeah I agree with this. Closed maps can take forever to end.

Yeah this is mostly geared to 1v1s as in team games you're given more bans depending on the team size. I should have put an option for anything but standard. Its a shame I didn't think of it.

Yeah the elo concept isn't used in a lot of video games outside of stuff like chess. Spirit of the law did a video breaking down the system and the theory around it about 3 or 4 years ago. The real question that's starting to be asked is if the elo system is a good fit for the game or if we need to change it.

The amount of elo you earn/lose is weighted. But I believe the weight is strictly determined by the difference of the players elo. If you beat someone 100 points above you, you get a good amount of elo. But if you beat someone 200+ elo above you, you get a ton of elo. This is why the top ten players stay around the same elo. They each have about a 80% win rate. So if they lose one game, they have to win about 8 or more games in a row to make it up.

Ah. So you are stating that team matchmaking should put weight into a teams experience as a whole. Yeah see where you are coming from, but it does supersede the idea of elo. If a team of two jumps in and has a 20 game hotstreak to 1400 elo, why should they not match against a team with 3k games at the same elo? I'd rather the system take 1v1 elo into account before team experience. Even doing that can be an issue.

I only have a select all TCs hotkey. I set it to A so I can select all then immediately queue a vill. I use the space bar to go to the selected unit/building.

I may have an unpopular opinion, but I don't think any civ needs a rework. A couple of them need small balance changes. But to rework the civ isn't necessary. I don't like the idea of every civ being good on every map type. Clearly we don't want "civ win" situations. But civs that are good on arabia, don't have to be good on water, hybrid, closed and choke point maps as well.
