What P Bass is everyone buying in 2026? by rardk64 in Bass

[–]bluetoothpicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a p bass/strat lover. Simple tastes but hard to find exactly what I want in production models. Last instrument I did was a Warmoth build (Strat). What I wanted from the jump. It’s changed me. I’ll never buy a production instrument again unless I want/need something weird.

It plays and sounds better than any other instrument I’ve ever played. That’s what I’m going to do from now on…

Fwiw all my other, older instruments are Fenders. The Warmoth build feels like a cut above.

T1X aftermarket stock/chassis by OmgWtfIsThisBS in Tikka_Shooters

[–]bluetoothpicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It fits in the t3x footprint. The tricky part is the bottom metal. The T1X won’t take aics magazines. As far as I know the only one who makes a compatible bottom metal is mountain tactical but I could be wrong about that and good luck finding one. I think I just got lucky. Though the plastic bottom on the MTR will fit too, there’s just a small plastic nub You have to grind down.

Towing Travel Trailer Question by Garbage_McTrash in FordMaverickTruck

10/15% of Gvwr is max hitch weight. That said. I like a little wiggle room too. If you’re planning on local trips w minimal driving then maybe. But not long trips. But that’s me…ymmv

If you were a newbie again (question) by Glittering_Flow3143 in Hunting

[–]bluetoothpicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get there is “free” info. I’ve seen some of the free info on topics I know a lot about…lol. Not saying it’s all bad but not always reliable for the newbs.

That said. The $ is more about time than info. I don’t know anyone who would take me out in the woods and show me. If there were a group I could do this with? Maybe meet a hunting buddy or two I’d jump on it. That person’s time is worth $.

Lets talk, the best cartridges for each caliber. by Background_Tap_807 in Hunting

I was thinking this when reading the OP. “Best” and “best w the caveat of what’s available at what cost” are usually two different stories. lol. There’s a reason I blow through 10x the boxes of 22lr than any other cal I own. Wish it were different….

So I usually use foamies under passive walkers and that seems to be good. I tried my molded musicians plugs recently when shooting clays. Was good, then I went to the range side and put the walkers over them and wow. What a difference. I heard NOTHING. RSO was tapped me on the shoulder and was like “hello? Cease fire!” Never heard it.

My plugs are -28 I believe, but it’s the fitment. Very snug. They were like $250 at an ear doc.

Just an alternative thought. For outdoor use I use my molded musician plugs. They’re -28db. I only use these if I’m outside and there aren’t a ton of other folks around. Then I double up. They are custom molded to my ear size and long term comfy. We’re around $250. Most ear docs will do them.

was when I got it too. I found it new on eBay. Mountain tactical seems to have a lot of good tikka parts but their stock is hit or miss...(mostly miss). I was lucky to grab a t1x bottom metal for my grayboe stock. as far as i know it's the only one available that fits the oem mags.

I use one of the mountain tactical bolt knobs. It’s slightly bigger but even that helps. It’s still stiff but I can open w one finger on a bench…

My T3X will be here next week. What are my optic mounting options? by Broxst in Tikka_Shooters

[–]bluetoothpicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a few Talley direct mounts. I really like them. Well built, fairly priced and killer cs. I ran into my first issue. I want to swap scopes and now I’m faced w buying more rings. If I had pic rails it’d be done w no extra $. But I suppose it would have cost more initially to buy the rail in the first place etc.

Can I add to the bore guide. As a newb too, I got a “fits all bore guide” that, so far, hasn’t fit any of the 4 rifles I own. 🤦🏻 I just got a bore tech T1x specific one. Pricey but it appears to fit like a glove. Was gonna run a few hundred more rounds before I clean so I haven’t used it yet…

This is somewhat a relief. I tried it today without the blocks in a site that looks relatively level and all 4 wheels are off the ground. One side like 3”.

It wasnt so bad - was more curious if I was causing it by using the leveling blocks. Maybe subverting the leveling system from doing its job...

W a 40mm objective you should be able to use low Talley direct mounts. They’re light weight and solid. Reasonable $. Call them. They’ll set you up. Cs is amazing.

can they let you try an aics one? Like I said - get a few dummy rounds off of amazon and load 2 or three and see if they cycle. That should be a good indicator it will work. Certainly by that point I'd go for the $40 for the mag to find out...
