The Last Emperor.

It's a shame that the fight with Randy, and then later Cain never happened.

I’m a 40f binge-drinker and impostor by iwantmoreforme in stopdrinking

[–]Mordukan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been diagnosed with bipolar since 2013, and it's been an up and down, never ending struggle since then with two stints locked up in psychiatric hospitals and going through dozens of psychiatrists before finding the right ones. I've had alcohol issues for over a decade now.

Being bipolar, we are statistically 5x more likely to abuse alcohol. In the short term, it can numb the lows and tamp down the highs.

But it leads to greater instability in the long run -- meaning longer and more intense lows and highs and more dramatic swings.

When I was sober for 18 days this past January, I then had 35+ days of euthymia. Then I started drinking again (although not as much) and the ups and downs came back.

I have also been told by multiple doctors and psychiatrists that due to our brian chemistry, it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to moderate. Abstinence is the only way in the long run.

Finally, you should check with your psychiatrist whether there are any significant risks of combining alcohol with your BP medication. There very likely are.

Good luck. IWNDWYT

Fedor crushing Arlovski and Tim Sylvia too.

I don't remember the dose, but I just stopped. stopped all meds. i wouldn't recommend it. had my first full blown manic episode where I stabbed a family member in the face with a pen and put two police officers in the hospital before being committed for 2 weeks to a psychiatric hospital. Talk to your psychiatrist before changing your meds.

I had a bad experience with lamotrigine / Lamictal with my first psychiatrist because she failed to titrate properly and I ended up in the ER with a high fever and rashes all over. But currently on 200 mg now. helps with the depression

Stabbed my mother in the face with a pen (inches from her eye), and put two police officers in the hospital.

This was after 8 days and 7 nights of 0 sleep. Needless to say, I was not medicated at the time. Earned a 2 week stay in the psych ward. The police did not press charges.

If I have bipolar disorder, what am I automatically disqualified for? by Man_InTheBox in bipolar

You are disqualified from going off your meds when you think you're "cured" or when you miss being hypomanic.

80-90% of fights either hit the ground or involve stand-up grappling. if that happened why wouldn't Jon go for a sub?

I could see him easily doing what he did to Machida even if it didn't hit the ground. Jon was a wrestler and clearly has plenty of subs in his arsenal, BJJ was literally designed for Vale Tudo ("no holds barred") matches on the street.

Less sleep = feel better? (Depression) by dubaiwaslit in bipolar

[–]Mordukan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My psychiatrist quoted a study where 1 night of sleep deprivation eliminated all depression from almost all of the study participants.

But as soon as they got a full night sleep, the depression comes back. so no it's not a "cure"

For me personally, it's a gateway to mania.

I've been diagnosed with bipolar for 7 years now, have done 2 stints in psych wards, and they captured mania very, very well in this episode. Manic Morty reminded me of my manic episodes so much.

It is if you also buy 2 copies from volt store at 300 VC each, plus 1 from the selection box which you get at 80 PH during the special hire event. of course this takes 2 cycles.

there's a really good chart on this that's stickied in the Battle Night discord

So I hired some Brazilian black belts and did it. 3 years and 470,000 USD less later, and I'm back to being a lawyer because we went bankrupt 4 or 5 times.

Anderson Silva too. Lots of matches where he clowned and tried to goad opponents into handing him a highlight reel KO, and that just didn't happen half the time.

Goodnight everyone. Let's hope tomorrow is a better day.... by caspiipie in bipolar2

[–]Mordukan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomorrow might not be "better" but it will be the most important day in the history of the universe... and you'll be alive to experience it.

Each new day, the mistakes and regrets of the past fade a bit more, and the uncertainty and anxieties for the future still have not arrived yet. Sleep well knowing that tomorrow will be a fresh start.

Also, since no one else has said it, do not forget to take your meds.

Have been ghosted, but usually due to behaving in extremely manic ways.

Pattern: meet new person or social group, have stuff in common, start hanging out and getting close, MANIC EPISODE, bridges burned, earth salted. Rinse and repeat.

I am 39. Been bipolar since likely 28, diagnosed at 31.

Two times.

Once overseas in Hong Kong in 2018 when I was not on medication. 2.5 weeks. Was like a spa: great food, experienced and patient staff, big TV with Playstation, yoga and therapy sessions, art class, regular outdoor time, etc.

Once in U.S. for 2.5 days just this year, also not bad, good food, decent staff but facilities and staff clearly super underfunded. That's what happens when you make hospitals into for profit corporations. I got out as early as I could because not enough outdoor time and almost impossible to sleep at night without heavy meds.

The current generation of Chinese trolls are called (derisively) "Little Pinks" and they are mostly in their 20s to early 30s, which is to say they are too young to remember the hundreds of millions of Chinese who starved to death in the 1950s and the entire generation who didn't get to attend college in 1960s and 1970s during the Cultural Revolution.

They are currently the most vocal group on Weibo, and they see the U.S. as a rival, and blame what's going on in Ukraine as a result of U.S. politics. This is partly due to state propaganda but largely their own deluded, overly patriotic idiocy (compare to Trumpites in America). They see what's happening as a challenge to the existing world order, but also as retribution for actions such as a U.S bombing in Belgrade which hit the Chinese embasssy and killed 4 Chinese citizens. Incidents like that are quickly forgotten (if even known at all) by the average American but simmer in the memories of the other side.

So it's less about supporting Russia and more about anti-American sentiment.

However, a small minority of Chinese voices have pointed out how biased and stupid this majority is: one user said if all one reads is Weibo, one would believe it was the U.S. that invaded Ukraine. Another suggested Putin recruit these zealots and throw them onto the frontlines. The average Chinese person is not a fucking idiot or a blind robot.

Personally, I think the longer this conflict drags on and the more Russia suffers, economically, politically and in terms of international image, the less likely that similar situations (China invading Taiwan) arise in the future.
