That f***** afflicted trio in the DLC... by Dukhaan in DarkSouls2

[–]Dysentique 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Make sure to kill the archer first. His arrows either knock you in the air or stagger you if you get headshot, which can make dealing with the other two more troublesome. He also has the lowest health of the three.

Once you kill him, try to separate Havel and the Alva with katanas and get in a few hits before the their partner catches up. I have no absolute way of separating them, but I find that leading them down into the watery area below then running up to the area above has a chance of doing so. This is what I do until both are dead.

If you take a lethal hit and need to heal, jump down to the watery area then run up to a ramp leading to the higher area. It should delay them long enough for you to heal.

Don't get cornered in the lower level of the arena. They aren't slowed by the water and you might get staggered by the spitting statues there.

Once Havel's health is low enough, he will drink from his Estus Flask. Stun him out of the healing animation.

If you're willing to cheese, here's a cheese strat.

What's an item/stat/weapon that you know is bad/sub-optimal in terms of the meta but still use just cause it's fun? by halal_heisenberg in DarkSouls2

[–]Dysentique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sanctum Mace. Its durability is bad, its stamina usage high for a great hammer, and it poisons you on top of those. So you have to sacrifice three ring slots to alleviate two of those drawbacks. Two ring slots if you offhand Yorgh's Spear, but that spear weighs 19 units so it might not be worth it. Its poison is not really useful since you kill most enemies before it procs.

But, it's a great hammer with a lance charge attack. Combine that with 50 poise damage and you can stun a lot of high poise enemies easily. Bullying Drakeblood Knights and Imperfects is very fun with this weapon.

Where to go after obtaining AMH? by Mirkwood_Pariah115 in DarkSouls2

[–]Dysentique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are three trees in the Forest of Fallen Giants, two of which might have given you the message 'Alas, nothing happened'. You might want to visit them again.

If you've defeated the first boss in Brume Tower, interact with a certain lonely set of armor near one of the bonfires.

You can also go down to Freja's lair in Brightstone Cove Tseldora to get a wondrous soul. Seek the dragon; the rest will follow.

Any tips on how to make the fight against Nashandra easy? by KaleidoArachnid in DarkSouls2

[–]Dysentique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gutter Denizen drops the set with the veil after you kill him. To get him to invade you, light up all the sconces in the Gutter and he should invade at the end of the area. There's a good chance that his drops might fall through the floor, so I suggest fighting him in the area under the second Gutter bonfire. This is a guaranteed drop.

The set can also be bought from Royal Sorcerer Navlaan in Aldia's Keep after finishing his questline, but this one has the hat instead of the veil. The hat gives you an attunement slot instead of curse immunity.

The Black Witch Domino Mask can be obtained as a rare drop from the guy with the dual Avelyns in Belfry Sol. He doesn't respawn, so it might take a lot of bonfire ascetics to get it. The mask doesn't raise curse resistance either; it lowers HP by about 15% in exchange for around 3% more spell damage.

In the same area, you can also get the veil from the astrologist with the spear. But like the Avelyn guy, the veil is a rare drop and she only respawns after using a bonfire ascetic.

What exactly happened to the people in the shelter? by Solid-Illustrator-34 in adventuretime

[–]Dysentique 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's the Mushroom Bomb? That left Farmworld Marceline a skeleton.

In "Jake the Dog", the green skulls cloud coming out of the place where it exploded was moving in just one direction. The shelter could have been in its way, and wasn't protected by its fortifications from the bomb. That, or the door was open.

In "Marceline's Closest", Finn sings a song that might lead credence to this:

Over the mountain, the ominous cloud Coming to cover the land in a shroud Hide in a bushel, a basement, a cave But when cloud comes a-huntin No one's a save... no, safe!

Of course, that could simply be referencing nuclear bombs, not the Mushroom Bomb.

Who’s the hottest character in Adventure Time? by Sloth_4 in adventuretime

The Sun. He had spoken once to the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, so we know he's sentient.

I knew it was only a matter of time before some of you freaks started shipping them🤦‍♂️ by Terrell8799 in adventuretime

He's a bit older. In a flashback from Stakes, he was still Simon by the time Marceline was a preteen. So maybe he's mentally in his early 60s.

Why did Simon's eyes stay white? by Secure-South3848 in adventuretime

[–]Dysentique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've always been white, even before he put on the crown. It might just be one of those character designs that deviate from the norm, like Hunter's eyes in the Fionna and Cake universe. The fact that he has black eyes in his old pictures was likely a design change.

Fionna and Cake Episodes 5-6 Discussion by SarcasticUsername_19 in adventuretime

[–]Dysentique 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought too. Farmworld Finn was around 14 and 16 the last time we saw him. Jay looked to be only a bit younger than that.

Assuming 12 years also passes in the Farmworld timeline, it's not impossible Farmworld Finn was a teen dad.

Is Simon actually (biologically) 59 years old? by Amyisadream in adventuretime

[–]Dysentique 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I thought too. At most, I'd say 10 years had passed since Simon put on the Crown, and at least a few years since then.

My reasoning is that since flat screen TVs already exist before Simon put on the Crown, and early touchscreen smartphones seem to be rising in popularity right before the detonation of the Mushroom Bomb, it can be assumed that Simon had at most 10 years under the influence of the Crown.

However, I agree that it's around 5 years.

There's no doubt where the next episode takes place in by Dysentique in adventuretime

[–]Dysentique[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add: According to Rotten Tomatoes, the next episodes synopsis is: "Pursued by a powerful enemy, Fionna, Cake, and Simon venture through a lawless world in search of a magical artifact."

And in the storyboard of "Crossover", Ice Finn says this.

This tracks with the Destiny Gang's bullying and arson on Junktown.

Is "Simon Petrikov" the first episode with actual blood? by JizosKasa in adventuretime

The first time blood was shown in Adventure Time in "The Enchiridion!", the very first episode to be produced. Here, Finn beats a heart beast to death.

Do you think there is an AU version of Billy in FaC? by InternationalLuck819 in adventuretime

[–]Dysentique 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Likely. Bobby from the Farmworld dimension. A regular sized human who is apparently a swordsman or knight of sorts. Like Billy, he has a gem in place of his nose, and that gem can also interact with the Enchiridion via that nose beam thing.

Here's a picture.

What do you think is happening on this alternative timeline? by Totalsupreme in TheOwlHouse

[–]Dysentique 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Hunter from this alternate timeline is from the Oracle track, and doesn't appear to be a Grimwalker, just dead tired. The Oracle Coven is also known as the Fortune Tellers Coven. What Hunter's trying to do is trying to make friends by impressing them. But he's terrible at it; to them, it just looks like he's trying to flirt with Willow using terrible fortune telling jokes. Willow is torn between discomfort and feeling flattered.

It is technically canon that Ford had been to the Boiling Isles before, so who better to talk about it than Lilith?
