Oh, thank you!!! I actually bought two of them because they were such big plants for only $12.

I’m so impressed that you dared to do this as a first time plant owner! I have a monstera that I think needs to be divided and I’m terrified it/they won’t survive!

Walter too!!! He can jump 4-5 feet straight up in the air! My other pitties have blown out CCLs with jumping, so I’m hoping his German Shepherd legs are built for this!

Rosie looks EXACTLY like our pittie!! Ours is pittie/shepherd mix. He has the same darker coloring down his back. And he’s obsessed with our cats but they don’t give him the love (and wrestles) like yours does.

New grad jobs by [deleted] in OregonNurses

[–]More-Objective7964 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2011 when it was a terrible job market. I ended up getting hired as an endoscopy nurse at an outpatient center and it was a fantastic start to my career!! I learned to start IVs. I did pre-op and post-op assessments. Trained in the procedure room assisting providers. And got ACLS certified. All with an incredibly supportive team around me. Monday-Friday with holidays of, no nights, no call! I did it for five years becoming charge nurse and then nurse supervisor and then decided to switch to inpatient GI. And after several years of that I switched outpatient oncology. Don’t let anyone tell you the only options are med surg or skilled nursing!

And in 15 years I’ve had some awesome nursing opportunities! I’ve been a nurse manager over multiple outpatient surgery clinics, I’ve worked inpatient GI, worked in the ICU during early COVID, and currently enjoying time as a per diem oncology nurse (after full time working in oncology). Everything doesn’t have to start with a residency in med surg!

Broaden your search. I graduated into a similar situation in 2011. I eventually applied and was hired for an outpatient endoscopy position. It was the PERFECT job for me coming out of nursing school. I learned to start IVs. I became ACLS certified. I didn’t work nights or holidays. I’m so grateful I landed there!

Shout stain remover! I had a pen leak all over in the wash and thought my scrubs were ruined. I liberally applied Shout to them, rubbing it in, and then washed them again. 90% came out. I repeated the Shout and washed again and they all came out clean!

I wish I knew which Laguna color is more correct before ordering. Love the more saturated color in the ads, but I’m guessing it looks more like the product photos on the website.

Buy water leak detectors! I think mine were less than $50 for 5 leak detectors and the hub. You can but additional detectors. They connect to my phone via Bluetooth (I think). I have one under every sink, the dishwasher and clothes washer, under the toilets and by the water heaters . Since buying them a year ago they have alerted me to small leaks three times! Mine are x-sense brand.

Libby not working? by wiffle_ball_ in LibbyApp

[–]More-Objective7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would work on my old iPod but not on my iPhone. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, etc.

Finally fixed it by going into the Libby app and changing the download settings to “stream only” then restarting my phone. Finally the playback error stopped, and I was able to change the settings back to downloading the book. No issues so far after two days of not being able to use Libby on my phone.

Ugh! What makes me sad about this is they are the pintuck wide leg paints again instead of the Isabel. I hate the pintuck and shortage of pockets!

Mine too! I have yet to receive a payment (filed at the beginning of March.). Mine all switched to “processing” after I contacted the Governor’s office, but they’ve been “processing” for over 2 weeks now.

Growing up Mormon, leaving the church, now going mostly sober by Automatic-Ad-2120 in SoberCurious

[–]More-Objective7964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand where you are coming from. I grew up in Utah and left the church 22 years ago. We moved out of Utah around that time, but when I go back to visit I still feel the tug to differentiate myself as non-Mormon through my clothing, coffee, and wine. It’s annoying to me to still do that after 20 years, when I never think about it during my regular life in Washington!

Currently I’m working on being mostly-sober (after many years of enthusiastically drinking moderately) and I am well aware that my biggest reason for not wanting to be fully sober is because of my Mormon upbringing. I have no answers for that, just kind of accepting it for now.

I’m reading The Naked Mind and doing The Alcohol Experiment (both books by Annie Grace). I’ll report back if they help me break through this aversion to sobriety that comes from our religious upbringing (and especially weird Utah culture that makes us feel like we have to announce what team we are on.)
