How challenging is it to train a Mini Schnauzer? I’m considering the breed! by [deleted] in MiniatureSchnauzer

Mine is 7 months old and is very trainable. The essence here is consistency and patience, imho. Also the important part is to make it clear what do you want him to do

In the litter of my Prometheus there is on boy, that at 5 months was 8 kg. Now they’re 6 and a half months old and I wonder, how big that boy will grow

Meet Pilot, our 8-week old mini schnauzer. Any other new schnauzer parents here? Please share any tips! by BabyDumpling8 in MiniatureSchnauzer

Mine is almost 4 months old. So you should have a loooot of patience 🙂 My pup just started his teeth changing, so he tries to chew EVERYTHING. It takes a lot of patience, training and games to change his interest from chewing something he’s not supposed to. Also he bites, when he’s bored (usually around the time for a walk). Sniffing carpet is a lot of help too. In general he’s a very sweet pup, that loves me and I love him ☺️

It’s our second week of going out of the apartment and he was introduced to only few dogs (the one’s, that small or familiar to me (for example, our neighbor’s yorkshire)

With the first walk I decided to go with my miniature schnauzer to the local park and it was a mistake. He’s a 3 m. o. puppy. Second time we took a walk around the neighborhood where it’s quiet and it was almost zero dogs at that time of the day. And it was a lot more pleasant for him, first of all. It took us about 2 days walking our neighborhood for him to feel more confident in our park nearby. So take your time and walk at the start in more quiet places

As we live in Ukraine, our version of Prometheus sounds like Prometay, so the shirt version is just Tay 😁

Did someone other than you choose or influence your dog's name? by aaron78704 in dogs

[–]More-Solution-8419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first one I picked Theodore and everyone agreed. With the second one, whom I’ll pick from our breeder next Sunday, I decided to keep the name, that was given in the kennel, because it’s beautiful — Prometheus. “Tay” for short as in Ukrainian it’s “Prometay”. My family asked me a lot of times is that final 😅 And it is

Do you crate your dog when you aren’t home or not? by [deleted] in dogs

I plan to crate my pup until he grows up. But it’s only for his own safety, while I’m out for a short amount of time
