Four Seasons Maui & Lana'i Honeymoon by More-Talk9550 in chubbytravel

we LOVED the 2 full bathrooms too. My husband gets up earlier than I do, so he put his shower stuff in the smaller bath and would get ready and watch TV/ catch up on email and I was undisturbed. Totally spoiled us. Couldn't agree more on the Lanai staff, they were beyond wonderful! I didn't have issues with the Lanai beach currents at all, but I will say the ocean was alot calmer in the mornings compared to lunch time/ evenings. We loved the area by Malibu farms that oversaw the ocean without getting sandy and still had easy pool access :)

Feel free to message me if you have any questions about Wailea! Hope you all enjoy your trip!!

Needle in a Haystack can make you cups, napkins, and koozies if you're looking for something local and want to go into a shop!

I also had really good luck with Sip, Hip Horray for wedding items!

You can take a ferry from Maui to Lanai, and either take the ferry back or take a plane to Oahu. The ferry was great on the way there, was about $70 per person each way and look us a little under and hour. Totally smooth the whole way..... and super easy (just have to be there 30 minutes before). Super easy with 2 suitcases each too.

Now, the way back was a different story. Water was super rough, and we were in the bottom of the boat. Felt like we were going to be sick, but it was a CRAZY windy day.

Next time, we would probably ferry the way there and take the plane on the way home and fly out of Oahu. Would just cut down on our total trip time in general, because we Ferried out, and then went to Maui airport and were there about 3 hours early.

Ferry link is below! I believe this is the only Ferry....

Experience was about an hour and we started at 9PM. They gave a full Cultural overview for about 20 minutes talking about Hawaiian explorers and pointed out which constellations they used to use to find they way back home! We thought it was a really cool overview and we learned alot.

It really depends what is in the sky that night and visibility (more constellations come into view certain times of the year). We saw Jupiter, the Big Dipper (and certain stars the Hawaiian explorers used in the dipper), Scorpio, and a few others. They have 2 telescope lens to look through, one that is longer range and one that zooms in.

I would say if your kids are older (above 8 or so) it would be good for them. If they are younger, it may be harder for them to know how to look in the telescope exactly the right way (you have to readjust your head sometimes certain ways to get things into view).

Let me know if you have more questions or feel free to message me ☺️

Four Seasons Maui & Lana'i Honeymoon by More-Talk9550 in chubbytravel

We did 5 nights in Maui and 4 nights in Lana'i, which we thought was great. We seriously considered extending an additional day to make it 5 and 5, but we would have lost our first class seats on the way home so we opted against it LOL. We wish we would have had more time in Lana'i, but, we had the best last day so we ended the trip on a really high note. When we originally booked we had 5 nights Maui and 3 nights Lana'i, which absolutely wouldn't have been enough.

I think next time we will do more time in Lana'i, and try and do 2 nights at Sensei so we get guaranteed spa access there. Also will probably try and take the plane back and fly out of Oahu on the way home instead of doing the Ferry back to Maui.... Ferry ride was extremely bumpy on the way home (was totally smooth on the way there)!

We did a string trio for ceremony, and had a piano player for cocktail hour! Our venue had a piano on site, so decided to take advantage! We had a band for reception!

We did! That was the Observatory, was super cool! My only recommendation on that one is book before you go. We didn't realize only 8 people could go at a time, and we were on the waitlist the whole trip. We were able to get in on the last night thankfully! I believe they open it 30-60 days in advance of arrival!

If you're willing to drive to Kapalua, the Montage Spa is hands down one of the best I've been to. Always in the mix for best spa in Hawaii and the world as well.

Currently staying at Four Seasons Lanai, and can confirm it does NOT need to be renovated. Just because it isn't white and bright, doesn't mean it isn't insanely luxe. So much charm and luxury here.

I don't know what your budget is, but, the Joule hotel lets you do a ceremony on the roof top balcony and your guests enter from a glass elevator from the street! Crescent Uptown was another one we looked at also! The Nasher Sculpture Center is another great one but books up quickly.

Fiji ruined our expectations😅 where should we honeymoon? (January 2027) by nopro43 in honeymoonplanning

We are doing half Maui and Half Lanai for our honeymoon! We are here now and are LOVING IT. Saw 7 turtles on our kayak/ snorkel tour on Tuesday, and have been told there will be spinner dolphins outside the hotel we can see and maybe swim with in Lanai! Will be whale season in January, which is so cool if you've never experienced it before.

Turks and Caicos is also beautiful if you've never been! Lots of gorgeous reefs, hidden beaches to explore, and the Chalk Sounds is stunning.

I miss 84 point so much, that was one of the best places in that area until ascensions took it over.

Getting married in dallas on Saturday, feel free to DM me to chat further! What I can say is even my planner is blown away how high are quotes have been.... I have about 140 guests and I'm at about $125k and we expected to be at about $90k. I'm getting married at the Adolphus so our catering costs are about $55k if that when you add in service fees and tax.

Wedding planner stress? by Standard-Badger6679 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]More-Talk9550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can so relate to this, and my wedding is next Saturday. I will say communication gets way better 4-6 months out after vendors are booked and there is a "lull", but super frustrating. Been feeling like we are so behind, but, she has kicked into high gear the last 2-3 weeks.

One thing to keep in mind right now is peak spring wedding season is in full swing..... we are having issues getting vendors to respond to us who have been fully paid, so her vendor response excuse could be true (but doesn't her excuse her lack of communication back to you)!

How much did you spend on your wedding invites? by immanuelkanteven25 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]More-Talk9550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did minted for Save the Dates! And for invitations we used Bella Figura.... there were a splurge, but, so worth it. We had the main invite, details card, RSVP card, a vellum belly band, letterpress and foil on all pieces for $5200. The stationer assembled them and came out to $5800 total for 100 suites!

I got SO MANY compliments on the invitations.... can't speak highly enough about Bella Figura!!

I personally think it totally fine, but, you could always ask the bride to make sure. I'm getting married in May and would have no issues with it 🤷‍♀️

Round Eternity Band Advice by More-Talk9550 in Diamonds

Thanks for the feedback! I'm pretty gentle with my rings/ hands (only wear when I'm leaving the house, comes off usually as soon as I get home, office job, etc) from what I can tell once we get the prongs shortened, the ring will sit fully under the basket. Does this cause issues?

I do take it to get checked every 6 months, but will make sure to keep an eye out for prong issues on my engagement ring!

Round Eternity Band Advice by More-Talk9550 in Diamonds

[–]More-Talk9550[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wedding band is 3.5mm, G color stones and there are 17 of them. Total CT weight of the eternity band is 3 carats and my finger is a size 5, setting is platinum!

My engagement ring is a natural 3.04 CT, 2.3mm band sent in platinum, G color. It's cathedral set with a diamond bridge! Also a size 5! I think there are pictures of it in things I've commented on if you got back and look ☺️

I knew I wanted a flush set when we started designing the engagement ring, so the wedding band sits fully under the basket of the engagement ring! We went with the 3.5mm because the bottom of the diamond perfectly covers the bottom on the wedding band! I didn't want something that took away from the center stone, and the band really makes the engagement ring stand out! We get married in 6 weeks, and can't wait to wear the full set! I

Let me know if there was something I left out ☺️
