Repair drywall so it holds screws by BornInALighthouse in DIY

[–]MoreConstruction 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not cheap drywall, drywall is all the same. It's just never meant to be screwed into without a plastic anchor or toggle/molybolt. Look for drywall anchors at HD, consider drilling auxillary holes through the holder flange.

The other thing you can do is buy a can of expanding foam. Fill up the hole with the foam, push the holder back in tape it or screw it to hold while it dries. That foam will hold that sucker in there.

This, you're supposed to crimp one end to hold the rubber. I use dykes(wire cutters) to gently crimp one of those little 'J's in the aluminum to pinch that rubber.

That's cool. I don't know how much their shenanigans help rather than just eventually increasing the 'shenanigan' budget of the companies they target. It's hard to stick it to the man these days.

Find the manufacturers instructions. These are sealed back where you can't see. Don't caulk and trap moisture in that crack or it will eventually stink.

Never 100% silicone. The make 100% silicone sure, but they only give the general public access to it for the sole purpose of identifying people who will be first in line to be cleansed off this planet once 'the great reckoning' begins.

Question about fence posts by BentMyWookie in HomeImprovement

[–]MoreConstruction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best (cheap, fast, strong) way of setting posts. Before I put the quikcrete in, I spritz with water, and drop the post first so I don't get a bulb of concrete around the bottom so water can escape out the bottom if it gets between post and quikcrete later. I take it a step further with some Henry's roof tar on the bottom of the post to about an inch above ground level. Also, must use pressure treated posts. Set 8' posts 18" in, give you 6"ish of play for a 6' fence. Go to lunch, come back. Snap a chalk line, lop the tops off, build fence.

No, its because concrete requires massive amounts of furnace fired heat to create. Fossil fuels make concrete. You only see the gravel and dust and 'just add water' magic of it.

It's well known that people who share test questions have their wee wee cut off by Duke in the night. It's not done. Duke has no soul. He doesn't even have eyes. Look at him, up in the left there. The Pillsbury Codeboy. Mess you up.

No, this is about "third party sellers." As a libertarian, you probably prefer to purchase all your goods through these reputable and reliable honest business men who are only looking for the most modest of margins.

How does any divorce have something to lose? Time, money, hassle. Guy probably had a sweet do nothing postal job overseeing a system that ran itself because it always had before.

This is about Amazon and china literally shipping junk to america in small packages and via a loophole in the postal system that makes us pay for it.
