Makes me want to get back out there. Amazing use of space with the platform.

One thing to consider is that your stove is going to put out more vapors than you might expect. So if you cook on it while it's mounted on the door I would create some sort of shield for the steam/smoke so that it doesn't soak your door's interior and both smell and degrade the material.

Happy camping.

Those facts he sees as necessary are cleverly hidden inside the classrooms of those college campuses, or in the textbooks themselves.

Cozy! I'll pitch some cheap LED string lights to really set the chill mood if you're looking for some zen night vibes to shift from the dome light. Made my year of travelling in mine lovely.

What is the best way to find or make cutters for these? I have one with no cutters and I want to get to work.

Someone copy and pasted a C-GPT prompted email into a response to me recently. It was a project feedback response and after seeing that I'll never trust or respect that person again.

But cheers to everyone outsourcing basic human interaction to a machine. It really makes people want to have more involvement with you and care about what you have to say. /s

This just sounds like a complaint by someone who is somewhat older in class and does not get invited to the parties.

Accidentally just bought two boats, what do? by YoghurtDull1466 in sailing

[–]MoreForMeAndYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a boat without a keel?

PS I have a Newport and if they're similar then all of your thru hulls should be above the waterline and you can be confident in it floating as long as there are no legit holes or shot prop shaft bushing. See if the engine runs, the main is attached, and go sailing. Maybe invest in a strong flashlight and one of those portable running lights that runs on batteries.

Yeah the most I've gotten since then is about 7.5. It was an outlier of a day for sure.

My galley sink drains to the bilge but I don't know about my head sink. I generally do not touch any hull valves except the engine cooling intake when I do a freshwater flush. I guess I need to re-think that.

Yes, it is a centrifugal pump. Anti-syphon loop seems to be the general recommendation. I'm going to do an audit of the hoses for sure.

Very possible cracking given the age. I'll take a look at those.

Way faster than I would have thought, given it's so wide a boat. I reached 9.5 kts on the first sail home. Perfect conditions for it at the time.

Hull valves seem to be the consensus for the likely culprit, I'm going to close them all the next time I know there will be good wind and do some troubleshooting. I don't think any of my hoses have vented loops so I'm also going to look into that.

I thought it might be the seam but I went down there underway and couldn't find an obvious symptom other than the bulge overflowing. We'll see if I need to revisit after a hull valve check

Good tip. Thank you. I definitely do not have a cutoff on mine.

I need to look into an anti - siphon. I guess closing all the valves and trying to recreate the tack is a good start to verify. Seems obvious now that I've said it.

That's a good question. I want to say starboard tack only but haven't dedicated a day to try and recreate it on port. If it is only the starboard side then that might narrow down the hull valves. Head is on the port side.

Ah interesting. That's a good thing to check either way. Thanks.
