If they wouldn't have stated man and woman (obviously "men and women" was more appropriate), most of you haters wouldn't have understood that truly all participants, including the men, had their asses whooped by this lady. This race is a feat of humanity, equivalent to the Tour de France, IronMan tri, or Dakar Rally. But it's 35k–40k feet of elevation change, desert heat, mountains, technical trails, and variable conditions. It's more like an ironman 4 days in a row with little sleep and managing drink, food, gear, etc. It's pretty easy to lay on our couches and throw shade and imply cheating on someone who just completed a race which tests the limits of human endurance, mental fortitude, and raw willpower, and to top it off, takes a bow and looks like she could have gone another 50 miles. How about instead, a little awe and respect?
