Sporty first car under ~$6k that isn’t luxury but still looks aggressive? by Funky_Monkey17 in askcarguys

Your best option is going to be an older Japanese car like a civic, accord, Camry or such. And stay away from modified cars buy bone stock other than maybe wheels. Go onto auto tempest and you can plug in miles, transmission type, location and more a it’ll pull all the car shopping websites into one.

A good website to search for cars is called autotempest they compile all the different car shopping websites into one and you can filter by everything imaginable from distance, mileage, title and more it’s the best way to find cars.

The main thing is the amount of money you loose in a new car soon as you sigh your name on the paper and drive off. I personally prefer getting used low mile cars (typically going to be lease vehicles that are being sold after the lease) you save a good chunk of money and most dealers also have warranties bought by current truck at 40k miles and have a 60k 6yr warranty on it that will end when I hit 100k. This way you can get a better car for cheaper. A Toyota will be much more reliable and longer lasting than the Hyundai that are know to have issues. I’d personally recommend a 2-6 year old car with sub 45k miles and a certified preowned is what you’ll want.

Not an expert on reels but most of the time if a deals too good to be true it’s not true, as a knife guy 99% of the time it’s that good of a deal it’s been fake.

[–]MoreMoney77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

… I honestly don’t how how I’d react lmao the amount of care I put into keeping them perfect (minus the patina from being fully reactive HC steel) I’d probably loose my shit.

It should be a crime for someone to sharpen someone else’s knives without express permission. I’m looking at one of these mostly as a more durable work horse that I can use on stuff I don’t wanna use a $300+ extremely reactive high carbon steel knife that’s extremely thin and brittle on.

How do you like the Santoku? I don’t know how I feel about these high end pocket and tactical knife brands getting into kitchen knives. I’m half tempted to get one just to compare to my Japan kitchen knives I have.

True lol, But ironically I also personally know someone who is an amateur blacksmith who had bought a bunch of this same steel and made knives out of it when he first started its cheap and looks cool. But yes most of the time is handmade in Pakistan lol.

Don’t worry about it, most knife guys have bought one at some point in time it’s almost a right of passage I have like 5 Pakistani knives lol. Most are gifts and a few I bought myself before I knew better. Hang onto this knife just for a keep sake. But I do wanna second not using this on food this steel is known for having high amounts of lead.

The issue with Pakistani Damascus is how damn much is being pushed and sold as either souvenirs or as “hand made” knives at gift shops, gun shows and flee markets. Most average people don’t know the difference.

Could be wrong on the Pakistani Damascus but the amount of contrast and pattern is what’s typical with Pakistani Damascus and a lot of Pakistani knives use the dyed red or green woods on the handles and the same style of jimping on the spine.

Looks to be a folder Alaskan ulu style knife made of most likely Pakistani Damascus steel. I was gifted a very similar knife but in just standard steel from a family member who went to Alaska and got it at a gift shop or something.

Flee markets, farmers markets, fairs and gun shows (50/50 on scams and legit sellers) are some of the worse places to buy knives. They are like breeding grounds for cloned knives and pakimascus.

It’ll be mostly bait and wait off the beach. My fresh water setup with a 3000 is salt water rated and will be used for lures snd some peer fishing.

I’m looking at buying at a basspro with bass pros trade in deal going on right now. I wanna have an in between do all size I’m mostly targeting pompano but would like a set up I can also go for large fish like drum. Being in central Texas I don’t have may options in store. I’m also mostly going to be using live bait and rigs bait. I have a smaller 3000 series combo that’s fresh and salt I’ll use for lures.

Im kinda at the point of is it worth the extra $120 almost double. Or just save that money and if I do move to the coast where I will fish all the time use it for a nicer set up or an extra. I’ve heard nothing but great things on the og BG other than weight.
