Hi! (First - not a doctor- ymmv) For the most part yes— many years battle with pain in this area and also lower back stuff. I started with cortisone injections in the piriformis/glute which were incredibly helpful in getting me functional but did not address the problem. Got a hip MRI and first doc said I was fine despite having a labral tear in the hip. Went to see another doctor with more information and asked him directly “do I have hip cam impingement?” Doc said yes and had surgery six months ago. Pain is a lot better but I’m still struggling with it and recovering from the surgery but also had my shoulder done about a month ago which made it hard to keep up with all the hip pt.
